Hallo Community,

hier mal eine ungewöhnliche Situation.

Ein Server, auf den ich nur via SSH zugreifen kann besitzt mehrere Platten. Auf einer ist das System, was auch problemlos startet. Allerdings finde weis ich nicht wo die anderen 4 Platten versteckt sind. Ich vermute, dass diese an einem Controller hängen, der nicht richtig geladen wird:

Erst mal SORRY wegen dem SPAM.

Da ich nicht allzuviel Erfahrung mit Linux habe fällt mir daran nichts verdächtiges auf. Und ich kann auch nicht sagen, warum die Platten (die SCSI-Platten sein sollten) nicht gefunden werden.

Findet ihr etwas?

Also das einzige was ich sehe ist ein CD-ROM und eine 250 GB SATA Platte als /dev/sda, von dieser Platte bootet er auch. Wenn die anderen Platten an einem SCSI Controller hängen, dann lad bitte das passende Kernelmodul dafür.

Wie gesagt ich bin nicht allzusehr bewandert in Linux. Wie müsste ich das Kernelmodul laden? Muss ich dabei auf einen bestimmten Herrsteller achten oder gibts da ein allround-Modul?

Du musst schon wissen welcher Controller in dem Server steckt. Module laden kannst du über das Kommando "modprobe" laden. Hilfe zu "modprobe" bekommst du über die Manpage von "modprobe".

habe mir mal die man-Page angeschaut. Leider weis ich nicht so recht wie das Modul heißen könnte. Habe gerade rausgefunden, das das irgendwas mit hptmv zu tun hat. Könnte das das fehlende Modul sein?

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit herauszufinden welchen Controller ich habe ohe das ich direkt an den Server muss? Wie gesagt ich habe nur SSH Zugriff.

Schau dir mal den Befehl "lspci" an. Das von dir genannte Treibermodul gehört AFAIK zu einem Highpoint SATA-RAID Controller.

Kernelmodul hast du doch schon oben genannt. Das müsste das Treibermodul für deinen Controller sein. Aber das es der von dir genannte Controller nicht sein kann, siehst du im dmesg, da ist der SiI 3114 nicht sein kann.
