Hallo liebe Linux-Experten,
Ich habe Schwierigkeiten mit dem Wlan bei meinem Notebook (Toshiba Satellite 50- 100, Intel Celeron M Prozessor 330, 1.40 Ghz), das heisst: Ich komme über Wlan unter SuSE Linux 10.1 nicht ins Internet. Ich benutze eine Wireless Network PC Card 54g WL-112 von Sitecom als PCMIA-Karte. Ich weiss als ein Linux-Neuling nicht, was ich tun könnte, damit die Karte unter Linux erkannt wird.
Der Wireless Network Cardbus Adapter WL-112 verwendet, so habe ich bereits herausgefunden, einen Ralink RT2560 Chipsatz (2500-Serie). Vom Chipsatzhersteller gibt es hier Treiber für Linux unter http://www.ralinktech.com.tw/supp-1.htm. Aber ich weiss nicht, ob und wie ich diesen Treiber dann installieren sollte – und ob mein Problem mit Wlan überhaupt damit zusammenhängen könnte. Ich habe in Eurem Forum auch herausgefunden, dass Linux den Chipsatz gut unterstützt, so dass möglicherweise PCMCIA eingerichtet werden muss. Wie finde ich heraus, ob PCMCIA überhaupt geht? Das habe ich bis jetzt noch nicht verstehen können.

Nachdem ich eine Woche lang herumgegoogelt habe, Freunde angerufen habe und nächtelang selbst experimentiert habe, komme ich einfach nicht mehr weiter. Kann mir jemand helfen?

Hallo Drcux!
Danke für den Link! Ich habe die Treiber von PackMan nun installiert. Nun weiss ich leider nicht, wie es weitergehen könnte, damit ich unter Wlan ins Internet kommen könnte - es klappt noch nicht. Es scheinen also noch weitere Probleme vorhanden zu sein, die ich nicht zu lösen vermag und noch nicht einmal erkenne. Hast Du noch weitere Tipps für mich?

Hi Chrissel,

hast Du eigentlich schon mit iwconfig Deine WLAN-Karte konfiguriert..
Mit "iwlist <Netzkarte-ID> scanning" kannst Du schauen, ob Du Verbindung
zum WLAN hast., und mit ifup <Netzkarte-ID> startest Du die NEtzwerkverbindung.
Die Konfiguration ist auch über YAST möglich.

Ich weiss leider noch nicht, ob Linux meine Karte wirklich erkannt hat, auch nachdem ich die Treiber installiert habe. Sie leuchtet beim Einstecken unter Linux nicht auf und macht auch kein Geräusch.
Ist es möglich, dass ich über die SuSE10.1 DVD unter 'Software installieren' ersteinmal noch das Paket 'pcmciautils Utilities for PC-Cards (Groeße 51.3 K)' nachinstallieren muss, damit Linux die Sitecom WL-112 Karte erkennen kann?

Hallo,
Ich habe jetzt die pcmciautils von der Installations-DVD installiert, aber es ist noch keine Verbesserung da. Welche wlan-tools, die sich auf der DVD befinden, brauche ich für meine Wl-112 Karte? Kann mir da jemand helfen?
