Tag allerseits,

wenn ich meinen MP3-Player anstecke wird er ohne Probleme erkannt aber es wird keine Gerätedatei im /dev angelegt! Hier noch ein Paar Informationen

Hast Du bei der Kernelkonfiguration das hier berücksichtigt?
