hallo,

ich wollt mal fragen ob jemand eine Anleitung kenn wo beschrieben wird, schritt für schritt, wie man einen GSX-Server einrichtet

wo ist denn das Problem mit dem Konsolen-»Wizzard«, der mit dem GSX mitkommt? :)

X-(Entwicklungs-)Pakete installieren. x11-devel o.ä. sollten die heißen. Die Fehlenden Bibliotheken kommen auf jeden Fall von X. :)

danke erstmal für deine antwort. 2) um ein webinterface zu haben, muss ich da die MUI installieren ? 3) welches von der liste brauch ich ?

Die hättest du auch schön ordentlich in Code-Tags packen können. :p

Eigentlich müßtest du in YaST nach dem Inhalt von Paketen suchen können, da müßte dann irgendwas in der Art von libx11* oder xlibs* herauskommen. Versuch das doch mal.

Alle Libs die nicht gefunden musst du logischerweise nachinstallieren.


apt-cache search libXtst

usw.. einfach mal nach allen Libs suchen und installieren.
Viel lustiger wird es später wenns um die Kernel-Module geht ;)
OT: Warum nimmst du den GSX? Ende Monat wird der GSX sowieso durch den neuen ESX abgelöst. Oder direkt auf VMware Server gehen?

wie jetzt abgelößt ? der GSX und ESX sind doch völlig unterschiedliche produktmodelle ?
Ok, habs ein bisschen doof ausgedrückt. VMware GSX wird durch den kostenlosen VMware Server abgelöst. Alle GSX-Kunden mit Wartungsvertrag können auf den "kleinsten" ESX upgraden.

hab mir nun die Vmware Server Beta installiert. er leuft. (kann mit dem client connecten)

eine frage hab ich noch, hab paar probs beim mui installieren. hat das schonmal jemand gemacht ?


Before running VMware Management Interface for the first time, you need to
configure it by invoking the following command:
"/usr/bin/vmware-config-mui.pl". Do you want this program to invoke the command
for you now? [yes]

Configuring httpd.conf to run Apache as:
User: www-data and Group: nogroup

Set the number of minutes before a http session times out. (This is the length
of time before someone connecting to VMware Management Interface will be logged
out) [60]

Generating SSL Server Certificate

Couldn't find necessary components on your system. It appears that you are
missing the following library: libdb.so.3

From your Linux distribution CD, install this package:
compat-db-<#>.<#>.<##>-<#>.i386.rpm or libdb#.deb where # is a version number
particular to your version of the distribution.

If your distribution CD does not have this package, contact your vendor for a
suitable library.

If you install this package after you installed the management interface
software, start the management interface's Apache server with the following
command:

libdb1-compat? Vielleicht heisst das Paket unter Debian anders, bei meinem Dapper heisst es so..

libdb1-compat ist schon die neueste Version.
