WLAN mit Acer-Notebook

Hallo

Ich habe mir seid langer Zeit wieder mal Linux auf meinem Notebook installiert. Leider bekomme ich keine WLAN-Verbindung zustande. Ich benutze Suse 10.1 und als Notebook das Acer 5652. Mit einem Netzwerkkabel zum Router funktioniert es wunderbar.
Es gab bisher nie bei mir Probleme mit WLAN und Linux, aber jetzt nach mehrmaligen überprüfen der Einstellungen weiß ich nicht weiter und brauche eure Hilfe.

also nichts besonderes, es wird auch alles automatisch erkannt.
Verschlüsselung ist aktiviert, den Key habe ich auch eingetragen.

Taucht die Karte denn in YAST´s Netzwerkgeräte auf?

Es könnte der Treiber fehlen, oder aber auch eine eventuell nötige Firmware bzw. ein Windowstreiber, falls Ndiswrapper zum Einsatz kommt.
Solange in iwconfig nur "no wireless extensions found" kommt, bist du noch weit weg.
Google doch mal nach "ipw3945" & "SUSE" oÄ.

Später würde ich erst mal ohne Verschlüsselung testen und diese bei Erfolg erst einschalten.

@linux_user1311: Du spielst hier Alleinunterhalter, greifst aber offenbar nicht Vorschläge auf, die du dir nicht selbst gegeben hast :ugly:

Anyway: hast du eine Firmware installiert? Hast du mal hier nachgesehen?

Die Lösung, ganze Distributionen zu installieren (mehrmals dieselbe oder verschiedene) ist nicht immer ziielführend (eigentlich eher selten).

Achte einfach darauf, dass folgende pakete installiert sind:


ipw2945d (der daemon, der nach der install auch gestartet werden muss)
ipw3945 (der treiber an sich)


beide pakete finden sich auf der suse cd. Leider kann man damit die karte net in den monitor-mode schalten. Dafür brauchst du die oben genannten treiber von sourceforge.
