Hallo an alle
Ich habe (scheinbar) ein Problem mit dem Samba-Server.
Aber erstmal ein paar Daten (zum besseren Verständnis):
Rechner 1
----------
MB: Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 (nforce2 400 Ultra)
CPU: Athlon XP 3000+ (400MHz)
RAM: 2x 512MB Corsair XMS (im Dual Channel)
Onboard Lan: Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC
OS: Windows XP Pro SP2 (aktuellste Updates)
FS: NTFS
Rechner 2
----------
MB: Asrock K7NF2-RAID (nforce2 400 Ultra)
CPU: Duron 800MHz (Mobile)
RAM: 1x 512MB MDT
Onboard Lan: Nvidia MCP2A Ethernet Controller (rev a3)
OS: Suse Linux 9.3 (aktuellste Updates)
FS: EXT3
Verbunden sind die Rechner durch einen Hub, an dem noch ein dritter Rechner
angeschlossen ist...tut hier aber nichts zur Sache denke ich.
Das Netzwerk läuft auf 100 MBit.
Rechner 2 soll (irgendwann mal) als Samba File-Server fungieren und Daten für
mehrere Rechner zur verfügung stellen.
Priorität hat die Performance beim Übertragen (lesen/schreiben) grosser
Dateien...4GB und mehr.
Nun zum Problem:
Das Übetragen einer 1,2GB grossen Datei per Windows-Netzwerk/Samba von
Rechner 1 nach Rechner 2 startet mit ca. 11 MByte/s, sinkt nach ein paar
Sekunden auf ca. 5-6 MByte/s und pendelt sich dort ein.
Kommt auf Rechner 2 statt Suse Linux 9.3 ebenfalls Windows XP Pro als OS zum
Einsatz (FS: NTFS) wird dieselbe Datei mit stabilen 10,5 MByte/s übertragen.
Ein Hardwaredefekt kann also eigendlich ausgeschlossen werden.

Mittlerweile habe ich intensiv Gegoogelt und in Foren gestöbert.
Dieses Problem scheint wohl öfters vorzukommen...leider hatte bisher niemand eine
funktionierende Lösung.
Nachtrag:
Wenn ich den Apache HTTP Server auf Rechner 2 starte und die 1,2GB grosse Datei mittels Rechner 1 downloade beträgt die Übertragungsrate stabile 11 MB/s.
