Squirrel macht probleme

Hallo,
ich habe einen Root-Server konfiguriert und darauf AlternC aufgespielt um meinen Mitarbeitern eine einfache konfigurations-Möglichkeit zu geben.
Bei AlternC ist Squirrel integriert.
Mail einrichten kein Problem. pop3 mit meinem Mailprogramm überprüfen auch kein Problem. Aber ich kann keine Mails senden und auch keine Empfangen :(

Was mache ich falsch?

Das sind ein paar wenig Infos. Gibt es irgendwelche Fehlermeldungen in den logs? Läuft vielleicht ne Firewall auf dem Server?

hmmm, da müsste ich erst einmal schauen. Wie komme ich denn an diese Infos? Denn ich habe bis jetzt einfach nur AlternC installiert

hat dann vielleicht mein ganzes AlternC system einen knacks?

Also ich kenne AlternC jetzt nicht, aber die Logs befinden sich unter /var/log.
Postfix speichert seine Logs in der Datei "mail.info" (zumindest unter SuSE).

also der docu von AlternC nach wird postfix installiert.

Dazu müsste man mal die master.cf von Postfix sehen.

Warum so kompliziert? Gibt es denn jetzt die "/etc/aliases.db"? Wenn nicht, einfach mal anlegen ("newaliases") und der Spuk sollte aller Voraussicht nach vorbei sein.

Aber vielleicht hat sich das ja eh schon erledigt und es gibt nur keine Rückmeldung.
