Hi Leute,

ich habe mir am Wochenende SuSE 10.1 installiert.
Nun habe ich ein Problem mit dem Cups Server, dass ich unter den anderen Distributionen bisher nicht hatte. Der Drucker wird am USB Port erkannt und läßt sich auch konfigurieren, aber drucken kann ich nicht. In der Druckerverwaltung erhalte ich folgenden Fehler, wenn ich den Cups Daemon neu starten möchte:

"Liste der Drucker lässt sich nicht übertragen. Fehlermeldung des Verwaltungsprogramms:
Verbindung zu CUPS-Server fehlgeschlagen. Überprüfen Sie, ob der CUPS-Server korrekt installiert wurde und aktiv ist. Fehler: Rechner ist nicht auffindbar."

Davon abgesehen läuft der cupsd aber (als root).

Über das Web kann ich nicht auf http://localhost:631 zugreifen, aber auf http://localhost:631/printers/ und die anderen Einstelloptionen. Hier wird der Drucker jedoch als nicht angeschlossen gemeldet!

Ich habe schon von ähnlichen Problemen in den Foren gelesen, aber noch keine brauchbare Lösung gefunden.

Bin für jede Hilfe sehr dankbar.

Hi miq,
wenn ich mir das Datum Deines Postings ansehe, scheinen wir beide die einzigen mit dem Problem zu sein, und ein Dickes ist es zu dem. Oder hast Du das Problem still und heimlich gelöst? Wenn ja da, dann veröffentliche doch mal Deine Lösung.

Deine Obige Fehlermeldung habe ich über den KDE-Dialog auch.

So weit ich weiss, läuft cups nicht als root sondern als lp.
Selbst als Mitlgied in lp beendet sich z. B. der Firefox kommentarlos, in OpenOffice kann ich drucken, Bildergalerien funktionieren aus dem Konqueror auch.
selbst nach einem Downgrade auf 1.1 läuft es nicht mehr rund.

In Anbetracht der Liste installierter Pakete, vermute ich, Du hast ein Update von 1.1.x auf 1.2 gemacht, may be mit smart. Denn genau nach diesem Update funktionierte mein Drucksystem nicht mehr. Selbst ein Downgrade hat noch Macken.

Ich habe wohl einen Bastlerchannel erwischt, übel aber damit muss ich wohl leben.

Wie gesagt schildere doch mal Deine Lösung.

Hi Ganymed.

Sorry, dass ich erst jetzt antworte. Ich war eine zeitlang nicht da und muss dich deswegen enttäuschen, denn ich habe noch immer keine Lösung gefunden.
Der Fehler trat direkt nach dem Aufsetzen des Systems auf. Möglich, dass ich per smart auch gleich den (defekten) Channel erwischt habe.
Ich habe aber bisher noch davor zurückgescheut cups komplett runter zu schmeissen und wieder aufzuspielen, weil es so verdammt viele Abhängigkeiten sind.
Ein Downgrad auf eine 1er Version hat leider auch nicht geholfen.
Mir fällt leider auch nichts mehr ein. Aber schön wäre es schon, wenn es da eine Löung für geben würde.

Im Gegensatz zu dir, funktioniert bei mir allerdings der Druck überhaupt nicht, also aus keiner Anwendung. :mad:

Schreib doch mal, wenn du schon weiter gekommen bist.

Besonders die Meldung mit E(rror) solltest du mal checken. Der Cupsd WILL gar nicht als root laufen und tut es scheinbar auch nicht.

Ich habe zwar nicht SuSE, aber die Konfig dafür ist ja überall gleich:

Hi,

seit der Installation auf SUSE 10.1 läuft mein cups auch nicht mehr. Ja, es hängt sich auf, wenn unter YAST "Druckerkonfiguration wird initialisiert" der Aufruf "Aktuelle Einstellungen laden" erreicht wird.
Was kann ich posten, um der Sache Herr zu werden. Bislang läuft SUSE 10.1 korrekt.

Nach einem nochmaligen Downgrade auf die 1.1er Versionen:

cups-client-1.1.23-39
cups-libs-1.1.23-39
cups-1.1.23-39

und der Änderungen in der cupsd.conf auf user lp und group sys, bin ich nun immerhin schon soweit, dass ich als root drucken kann. Als normaler User aber immer noch nicht.
Tendemziell stimmt also die Richtung.

Hier gibt's mal meine zum Vergleich (IP des Druckservers ist 10.1.1.2) im Anhang.

Ist allerdings von debiann ud muss sicherlich angepasst werden, z.B. in Bezug auf User, Group und Pfade.

habe auch SuSE 10.1 installiert, kriege aber den Drucker HP Laserjet 1200 nicht zum drucken. Der Drucker wird zwar erkannt, aber er druckt noch nicht mal eine Testseite, gibt auch keine Fehlermeldung. Unter Suse 9.3 druckt er einwandfrei und im Yast Kontrollzentrum finde ich nirgendwo einen Unterschied zwischen den Einstellungen für 9.3 und 10.1. Wenn ich es mit einem anderen Drucker versuche, HP PSC 1110, gibt es keine Probleme. Kann bitte mal jemand erklären, wie das mit dem Downgraden geht, muss ich da das Cups von Suse 9.3 installieren ? Weiss nicht, was ich noch versuchen könnte.

Die 1.2 Cups Version für SUSE hat leider ein Problem.

Was ist das denn genau für ein Problem?
Ich habe hier ein kleines Netzwerk, alle Rechner mit SuSE 10.1. Ein Rechner fungiert als Samba- und CUPS-Server.
Samba funktioniert tadellos. Der Ausdruck auf einem der zwei angeschlossenen Drucker hingegen primär mal nicht.
Ich muß mich vorm Drucken jedesmal via SSH auf dem Server einloggen und die Drucker-Funktion von YAST starten, erst dann wird ein paar Sekunden später was ausgedruckt. Ohne diesen Vorgang kann ich warten bis ich schwarz werde. Was könnte das denn sein? Ich hatte übrigens zuvor SuSE 10 auf den Clients, der Server lief mit dem Debian-Server vom Heise-Verlag.

Hallo,
ich habe auch diese Probs mit Cups. Leider hat dies nichts mit SuSE zu tun sondern liegt einzig und allein an CUPS. Leider deshalb weil ich SuSE schon seit längeren den Rücken gekehrt habe und nun mit Debian arbeite.

Mit dem aktuellen stable Release von Debian besteht dieses Problem noch nicht, die testing hat es auch :-((

Also ich habe es vor einiger Zeit so zum Laufen bekommen, dass ich Cups erstmal komplett runtergenommen habe, wie hier beschrieben: http://de.opensuse.org/SDB:CUPS_-_Das_Drucksystem_manuell_neu_einrichten.
Dann cups 1.1.23 neu installiert und nochmal unter
Angeschlossene Geräte --> Drucker --> Druckerverwaltung --> Verwaltung einrichten --> Cups-Server: Rechner auf localhost und Port auf 631.
Damit steht dann auch in der Druckerverwaltung unterhalb von CUPS, dass er auf localhost:631 lauscht. Vorher stand dort /var/run/cups/cups.sock:631, zumindest als normaler User und das führte wohl bei mir zu den Problemen. Es lag also primär an einer KDE Fehlkonfiguration

Ich hoffe dies hilft wenigstens dem einen oder anderen weiter.

Dies sind timeouts, die unter dem Webinterface von CUPS, direkt über gnome-cups-manager und sogar webmin auftreten.
