Hallo zusammen!
Leider weis ich nich ob ich hier richtig bin, aber da es sich um eine WLAN-Karte handelt, vielleicht doch.

Problem: WLAN-Karte/Treiber is weg.
Ursache: Verzweifelter Versuch, WLAN+WPA zum laufen zu bringen.

Das war die Geschichte kurz. Ausführlich:
Nach vielem hin und her habe ich erfolglos versucht eine WLAN-Verbindung von meinem Sony Vaio S5M zu meinem Netgear Accespoint mit WPA herzustellen. Nach diversen HowTo's und anderen Anleitungen hat es nicht geklappt, warum hab ich leider keine Ahnung, aber das ist nicht das Thema. Mit den Treibern in- und deinstallieren hab ich es irgendwie geschafft, dass meine WLAN-Karte weder bei ifconfig noch bei iwconfig auftaucht. Jetz bin ich echt am Ende. Keine Ahnung was man tun muss, bin noch relativ unerfahren was Linux und Gerätetreiber angeht.

Klar könnt ich FC4 nochmal draufklatschen, aber ich hab keine Lust bei jedem Problem die einfachste aber brachialste Lösung zu wählen.

Hallo,
nach Deiner schönen Umschreibung sind nun noch ein paar technische Details nötig:
Welche WLAN-Karte, welcher Chipsatz, welcher Treiber, Ausgabe von lsmod (als root).

Wenn eth0 und sit0 im gleichen Netzwerk agieren sollen (192.168.111.x), dann deaktiviere eth0 bevor Du weitermachst. Die beiden kommen sich sonst ins Gehege.

Danach sehen wir dann weiter.

Was das sit0 angeht, hab ich leider keine Ahnung, versteh das als IPv6-IPv4 Umsetzer. Werd das auf keinen Fall verwenden. Warum sollte ich denn eth0 dann ausschalten?

PS: Hab vorhin vergessen zu sagen, dass ich schon mal mit der WLAN-Karte einen scan nach accespoints machen konnte. Allerdings hab ich dann weiter an iwconfig, ipw2200 etc. rumgeschraubt bis gar nix mehr ging und jetz ja sogar eth1 gar nicht mehr auftaucht.

Bin immer noch nicht weiter gekommen. Im Fedora Network Configuration tool taucht meine WLAN-Karte leider auch nicht mehr auf. Kein Plan was ich da zerschossen hab, aber es scheint doch tiefer zu sein als ich dachte...
