Nabend.

Meine Odyssee mit WoW begann schon bei Wine. Erfolglos, leider (auch wenn viele es wohl geschafft haben). Danach habe ich mir von einem Kollegen testweise Cedega 4.4.3 besorgt.
Versuchsweise hab ich einfach meine Installation von Windows rüberkopiert und siehe da: Es lief. Allerdings unerträglich langsam, auch nach allerlei Einstellerei.

In der Überzeugung, Cedega ist eine gute Sache hab ich mir die (frisch erschienene) Version 5.0 gekauft. Nach der Installation hat Cedega erkannt das da noch ein WoW rumliegt und nach Bestätigung auch eingebunden. Es lief. Allerdings trotz aller Bemühungen aber auch nicht schneller. Und Updated war (wie ich beim WoW-Patch auf 1.8.3 merkte) auch nicht drin.

Also bin ich hin und hab WoW gelöscht und dann per Cedega nochmal frisch installiert. Und siehe da: Plötzlich um die 25 FPS (rund das 6-fache von vorher) und auch das Patchen geht (wenn auch etwas umständlich). Man muss das Patchfile dann mit Cedega installieren, dabei aber beim Install das selbe Profil wählen mit dem man auch WoW betreibt.

So klappts für mich. Wer noch Fragen hat einfach hier posten, soweit ich kann helfe ich gerne.

hmm,
also das ihr alle Probleme mit den Patchen habt verstehe ich nicht.Konnte bisher alle(!) Patches & Updates bequem per WoW-Update-Manager machen, ohne Probleme.
Das gleiche gilt für fps, sind bei 1024x768, und mittleren Einstellungen zwischen 15-25 (in if) und 30-50 (normale WoW-Welt)

Benutze Cedega 5.01

Das hätt ich auch gerne. Du könntest ja mal einen Screenie mit deinen P2P Einstellungen posten.. oder was du sonst so an Setup hast.. Vielleicht bringts uns weiter :)

DAnk dem Einwand vom Angler hab ich nochmal geschaut und festgestellt das ich es irgendwie geschafft hatte einige Einstellungen nicht ins WOW-Profil zu machen, sondern in Default. Darunter: Working Directory. Nachdem ich dort das WoW-Verzeichniss eingetragen hatte ging es dann auch mit dem Blizzard-Updater :) Danke an der Stelle :)

hmm, alsodas wundert mich schon. den ich musste keinerlei Einstellungen vonwegen Working-Dir vornehmen, also es muss auch ohne(!) gehen.
Das einzige was ich im default-profil eingetragen habe, ist das

Also so wie es aussieht liegts daran welche Version von WoW ursprünglich vorliegt. Weil:
Ich musste nach einem missglückten Experiement WoW wieder neu installieren. Die Config Files waren alle noch da, der Install lief ohne Probleme.. aber danach kein Update... erst nachdem die WoW-1.8.0-de-downloader.exe mittels wine (!) gestarted und damit den Patch manuell runtergeladen hatte, diesen dann (wie von mir oben beschrieben) installiert hatte, gingen die restlichen Updates von selbst.. Meine urspüngliche Spielversion ist halt auch 1.2irgendwas ;)

Mein System ist ein AMD64 3000+ mit gentoo Linux auf 64Bit basis und ne GeForce 6600GT.


Ok ich habe da mal eine frage weil ich absolut davon keine Ahnung habe und ich WoW zwar zum laufen kriege ich aber keine NPC bzw.Spieler auswählen kann!
Wo finde ich diese Dateien?

Das Problem mit dem Auswählen ist in der Wiki von Wow bei Cedega ganz gut beschrieben.. guggst du hier (http://cedegawiki.sweetleafstudios.com/wiki/ World_of_Warcraft)

Hab das selbe Prob, das ich nix anklicken kann. Also andere Spieler und NPC`s nur über strg + tab und dann über das Symbol bzw. den Energiebalken. Habe jetzt die settings

eigentlich lief Cedega & WoW bei mir ziemlich gut unter Debian.
Nu hab ich Ubuntu installiert, und das Problem mit der Maus ist wieder da.

Eintrag in der WoW-Config von Cedega brachte garnichts, hab auch einfach mal alle Cedega-Configs abgeändert. Aber immer wenn ich WoW starte wird der Eintrag wieder raus genommen. (Meine den "Memory...", bin grad bei der Arbeit und kann deswegen nicht die Config posten).

Liegt das evtl an Ubuntu? Wie gesagt, unter Debian lief das perfekt, Installation & Patch einwandfrei, Spiel lief flüssig, Maus-problem nach kurzem ändern der Config behoben.

und bevor jetzt wieder die post's kommen: Schaust Du Google & SuFu....hab seit 2 Tagen praktisch nichts anderes gemacht. Aber überall nur der Hinweis das man die Config ändern soll, was ja wie schon erwäht nichts gebracht hat....

Hoffe jemand kann mir sagen an was das liegen könnte bzw. wie ich das beheben kann.

Hab auch Ubuntu, also sollte es da nicht dran liegen. Der in der Cedega-Wiki als 2tes genannte Workaround hat bei mir geholfen

Also mal so ganz nebenbei, beim neusten cedega (keine Ahnung welche Version das jetzt ist) braucht man keinen(!) Mausfix mehr, das haben die jetzt entweder gelöst oder den Fix fest eingebaut. Jedenfalls braucht man jetzt nix mehr in der Config ändern und trotzdem geht das anwählen von NPC's & Co.
Also abundan tut sich da ja doch mal was, hehe ...

hallo. ich habe ein problem: wenn ich die WoW cd in mein laufwerk lege, finde ich auf der cd keine setup.exe datei oder irgendeine andere *.exe datei. d.h. also ich kann das spiel nicht installieren. kann mir vllt jemand helfen und sagen wie ich es zum laufen bringe? :confused:

Hallo,

bei mir läuft WoW unter Wine im OpenGL Modus einwandfrei. Die Regler sind momentan alle runtergestellt, damit habe ich fps von 50-110, je nach Gegend. Wenn ich höchster Qualität fahre habe noch fps von 15-50, je nachdem, allerdings wird das Spiel dann etwas instabil, ich versuche mich gerade ranzutasten, woran es liegt.

HW: Athlon 64 3000 (2000 Mhz), 1 GB RAM, Geforce GS 7600 256MB.
SW: BC (alle Updates unter Wine), Winw 0.9.30, Opensuse 10.2
