Suche leises Linux-kombatibles Notebook!

Hallo!

Kennt jemand von euch ein Notebook, das
leise (also der Lüfter sollte sich vornehm zurückhalten
und die Festplatte sollte auch nicht laut rauschen) ist??

Bin schon lange auf der Suche und finde nichts!!!
Möglichst SXGA (1400x1050) und >= 512 MB und >= 60 GB-Festplatte.

Geh doch mal in einen Computerladen und schau dir die Noteooks an, und lass sie dir vorführen. Das ganze Centino-Zeug ist mit wenigen Ausnahmen recht leise. Und solche auflösungen gibt es bei mehreren Herstellern.

MM oder Saturn, wo die Hifi-Abteilung gleich nebenan ist und einem
was vordudelt???

Kleine Computerläden mit Laptops gibt's doch fast gar nicht mehr!!

ich hab nen Acer Travelmate 635 mit 1400x1050 auflösung und 512 MB RAM und bin sehr zufrieden. allerdings ist das schon 2 jahre alt und hat z.b. keine 60GB Festplatte, aber ich denke aver hat in den letzten 2 jahren nen paar neue modelle auf den markt gebracht ;-) da lohnt sich vielleicht ein klick -> http://www.acer.de/

Also, ich hab mir grade das dell latitude d610 geholt, laut einer Anleitung bei linux-on-laptops.com bekommt man (außer suspend-to-ram, und für das Modem braucht man den Linuxant-treiber) fast alle Hardware zum laufen (Ich selber bin noch kräftig am kernel-rumbasteln).
Für meinen Geschmack ist das Ding auch schön leise (Allerdings hab ich da nicht so viel Erfahrung, ist mein erstes Notebook).
Als Ausstattungsoptionen gibts is 1GB Speicher und (ich glaube) bis 80GB Platte, kann auch mehr sein.

Ich hab ein Travelmate 290

Ist auch sehr leise, der Lüfter läuft recht selten und auch ansonsten entspricht es deinen Kriterien. Bis auf das es wahrscheinlich neu schon nicht mehr zu bekommen ist.

Vielleicht bei eBay noch?

Fiept das nicht unter Linux und unter Windows?

update (21.4.04): I've been asked whether my box makes an annoying high-pitch buzzing sound when on. At first I hadn't really noticed this, but it does make this sound under certain circumstances, which I'll try to describe here:

* cpudynd deactivated, 'scaling_govenor' set to 'performance'. The clock is the varied between 150 and 1400 Mhz according to load, there is a constant buzzing noise from the area around the power input/cpu
* cpudynd deactivated, 'scaling_govenor' set to 'powersave'. The clock varies between 80 and 600 Mhz, no noise whatsoever.
* cpudynd on, when the clock is dynamically scaled (80-1400Mhz) there is sometimes a short buzz as it sweeps up/down.
If I run 'watch -n 1 cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_govenor' I can see cpudyn switch between powersave and performance mode as the load is varied. This is also visible in /proc/cpufreq. This would explain why I sometimes get buzzing.
'watch -n 1 cat /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/power' shows a switching of 'C-state' when loading the system from C3 to C2. Don't know what affects this, but it also works with cpudyn switched off.
* When acpi is switched off (kernel option acpi=off) the frequency is also varied according to load, but no buzzing
* When the battery is out and the box is running purely on AC, it never makes this sound...
* When the battery is in and the box is running on AC or charging the bat it is silent.

@sasp: Du meinst 1400x1050? Ja, das gibt es.
Ich hab allerdings noch Probleme mit dem Intel-I915-Treiber, aber das liegt wohl mehr an meiner mangelnden Linux-Erfahrung (der Treiber lässt sich bei mir nicht kompilieren).

Edit: Seit ich Ubuntu drauf hab, klappt alles!

Hi,

ich habe das Dell Latitude X1, leider nur 12" WXGA 1280x768, lüfterlos(!)

Habe Ubuntu laufen und alles geht.
