Hallo

über vsftpd wurde ja schon viel geschrieben aber leider hab ich hier (und auch in google) nichts über mein problem gefunden.

Ich verwende vsftpd die user werden local angelegt und können in Ihr home verzeichniß daten speichern und downloaden. Nach einer gewissen zeit (2 stunden) bricht der server aber ab. somit sind nur x% vom zip file übertragen - und ich kann nichts damit anfangen.
Fehlermeldung in etwa so: close connection by host, timeout.

ich glaube ich hab das problem gefunden.

ich habe in der vsftpd.conf folgende auskommentiert:
tcp_wrappers=NO
und nun scheint es zu funktionieren.

geht leider immer noch nicht.

via shell hab ich 2 files (ca. 100 mb) hochladen können. mit einem ftp client (mit gui) ging es wieder nicht. was kann es da haben.

Welche Distribution? Wie laeuft vsftpd? Standalone oder via (x)inetd? Hier meine vsftpd.conf:

pam_service_name=vsftpdMehr braucht es fuer einen Test nicht. ich starte ueber xinetd, das entspr. Config-File sieht so aus:

Damit muss es gehen, sonst hast Du ein grundsaetzliches Problem.

Ich rate gerade nur mal, aber könnte es daran liegen:

vsftpd läuft via xinet.d glaub ich
nur leider hab ich in /etc/xinet.d/ keinen file der vsftp heisst.
ich hab jetzt einen angelegt.
ansonsten verwende ich noch einen textfile indem die users stehen (userlist_enable=YES)

problem ist auch das ich den ftp server (den Router nicht aufgesetzt habe)

jetzt hab ich das paket deinstalliert die vsftp.conf gelöscht und neu installiert.
ohne xinet.d also listen=YES

der ftp server geht aber er bricht wieder ab.

ich hab keine ahnung mehr was ich noch machen kann.

man vsftpd.conf:

data_connection_timeout
The timeout, in seconds, which is roughly the maximum time we
permit data transfers to stall for with no progress. If the
timeout triggers, the remote client is kicked off.
....

default liegt normalerweise bei 300 Sekunden - was normalerweise auch reicht -
somit bleiben die Fragen:
Wie sehen die timeout-Werte bei Dir aus? (Es gibt noch ein paar anderer)

Wieso klappt es (laut Deiner Aussage mit einem Client für längere Zeit) mal und mal nicht? Lass vom Client ein konstantes "ping" mitlaufen und prüfe dass nicht Dein Clientrechner sich selbst in den "Schlafmodus" verzetzt (im Notfall alle "Stromsparmassnahmen" abschalten, z.B. Bios, OS, ..).
.
Für eine funktionierende Verbindung sind immer 2 zuständig. Du bist sicher dass es nicht am Client liegt? Welche andere Clients benutzt Du?
