Umstieg von ipchains auf iptables

Was bringt es wirklich, wenn man statt ipchains iptables verwendet?

mit iptables konnte ich mich noch ned so wirklich beschäftigen also würd mich auch interessieren, ob der syntax der befehle vielleicht ähnlich ist oder total anders!

Ich habe mich mit ipchains nicht wirklich beschäftigt, aber ich glaube gelesen zu haben, dass die Syntax ähnlich ist.
