Problem mit Apache2 und php4 unter Fedora 2

Hallo,

wenn ich auf meinem lokalen Apache eine html-Seite aufrufe, klappt das.
Seiten, die php enthalten werden nicht angezeigt.
Das wohl einfachste php-Script

zeigt nur eine leere Seite an.

Das Error-Log des Apachen zeigt:

In der httpd.conf steht u.a.:

Include /etc/httpd/conf.d/*.conf

In dem Verzeichnis befindet sich php.conf mit folgendem Inhalt:

DirectoryIndex index.php


Warum werden keine php-Scripte ausgeführt? Diese habe ich mit chmod 777 *.php für alle und alles freigegeben.
