Softimage 4.2 Installations Problem

Wenn ich versuche die Trailversion von Softimage zu installieren bekomme ich am ende der installation diese Fehlermeldung:

Dabei ist es egal ob ich es ueber root, benutzer oder su versuche immer das selbe. Weder unter google noch im Softimage Forum(oder hier) konnte ich eine antwort finden.
Mein System is Debain 3.1, KDE 2.2, Xfree 4.3, 2.6.8 Kernel.

ich hab ne glibc 2.3 installiert. es scheint wohl zu atuell zu sien. aber solle es nich eigebtlihc schon behoben worden sien? wenn man bedenkt das dieses Poblem schon in 3.0 vorhanden war?

Das müßtest Du den Hersteller fragen ;)
Ich benutze Softimage nicht. Bei Debian sind (vielleicht aus gutem Grund)
verschiedene Versionen der BerkeleyDB in der Distribution, im Gegensatz
zu vielen rpm-basierten Distributionen (wie ich vor kurzem am Beispiel
SuSE feststellte).

mein neues Problem ist folgendes:

ich seh das es etwas mit der libgcc zu tun hat aber wie kann ich das aendern?
