fetchmail deamon problem, was zum teufel ist da los?

ich habe ein sehr komisches problem mit fetchmail:
wenn ich fetchmail im deamon-mode starte (zB fetchmail -d 120), dann checkt er meine mails nicht alle 120 sekunden, wie angegeben, sondern garnicht.
das kommt mir sehr spanisch vor, da wenn ich fetchmail mit fetchmail -d 120 -N starte (debbuing mode), er sehrwohl alle 120sek meine mailboxen abklappert....

fetchmail version ist 6.2.5+SSL+NLS auf nem slackware current (basierend auf 10.0)

die /var/log/fetchmail.log gibt es bei mir garnicht, obwohl das so angegeben ist (als log datei).
ich hab sie nun mal erstellt und mit tail -f überwacht, aber fetchmail schreibt wirklich nicht rein ... kommt mir sehr sehr komisch vor ...

entweder ich hab nen massiven denkfehler, oder irgendwas stimmt hier ganz und garnicht...

Wie sieht denn deine fetchmail-Konfiguration aus?

an der konfiguration kanns nicht liegen funktioniert ja mit fetchmail und mit fetchmail -d -N

~/.fetchmailrc:

set logfile /var/log/fetchmail.log
set postmaster "root"
poll pop.gmx.net protocol POP3 username USER password PW is eli ssl;
#poll pop3.web.de protocol POP3 username USER password PW is eli ssl;
poll pop.t-online.de protocol POP3 username USER password PW is eli;
poll mail.xedemm.org protocol POP3 username USER password PW is eli;
poll mail.xedemm.org protocol POP3 username USER password PW is eli;
mda "/usr/bin/procmail -f %F -d %T";


hab das problem nun durch cron gelöst, ist aber eben nur ein workaround ... wüsst gerne, warum das nicht auch per -d funktioniert ...
