Radeon 9600 XT, suse 9.1

ich bin am verzweifeln. ich weiss das das thema hier schon 1000mal besprochen wurde, aber die ganzen ratschläge aus der SuFu helfen nicht.

ich habe hab linux grade neu draufgebraucht und er kommt nicht in den xserver rein.

suse lädt, doch anstatt dann kde zu laden öffnet er den textmodus (ka ob der einen genauen namen hat) wenn ich dann startx eingebe sagt er das:

XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on x server ":0.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

reicht das??

Nein das reicht nicht.
Wir brauchen einmal die Konfigurationsdatei von deinem XServer und die Logdatei.
Erst dann können wir mehr dazu sagen :D

/etc/X11/XF86Config-4

Ist doch ganz einfach ... du mountest deine Win-Partition und kopiert das File irgendwo dorthin.

mount /dev/<Win-Partition> /mnt

cp /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 /mnt (oder wo du sie auch immer gemountet hast)

Danach bootest du Windows und öffnest das eben kopierte File. Am besten mit Word, da dieses die "Zeichenkodierung" von Linux versteht.

Sollte kein Problem sein...

Das Problem hatte ich mit meiner ATI Radeon auch mal und löste es durch auskommentieren der "BusID" Optionen.

Ich hoffe du weist wie du ein File editierst ;)

und bei mir funzt das mit dem cp nicht. wo schreibe ich wo das hinkopiert werden muss??

Vergiss das mit dem kopieren mal kurz ...

Kannst du das obengenannte Config-File mal posten? Wie bist den du jetzt im Netz ohne GUI?? w3m ist etwas umständlich ;)

weißt du überhaupt was du für ein X hast? xorg oder xfree? wenn du suse hast versuchs mal mit sax in der shell. für alles andere nimm erstmal den treiber vesa. damit solltest du X wieder starten können und 'bequem' die configs kopieren können. und nutz die restliche zeit zum lernen auf www.linuxfibel.de und www.selflinux.org

EDIT: benutz nur kein sux. das zerschießt dir die config ;>

EDIT2:

dann musste mit "fglrxconfig"erstmal eine erstellen

hab den rechner mal an einen anderen monitor angeschlossen. damit funzt es!

nur was muss ich jetzt einstellen damit es auch auch dem LCD funzt??
