Der neue nForce Treiber von nVidia ist raus (x86 und x86_64)...die ärgerlichsten Sachen scheinen behoben zu sein:


* Added support for kernel installations that use separate kernel source and generated kernel object trees.
* Fixed nvnet problem that caused rmmod to crash on systems with more than one network interface.
* Fixed nvnet build issue on uniprocessor systems that have spinlock debugging enabled.
* Added support for Ethernet driver statistics and configuration information through procfs
* Fixed nvsound module hangs when APIC is enabled on some distributions.
* Fixed nvsound module bugs causing lack of sound or delay in sound with some games.

hab das selbe problem wie bei der vorgängerversion. sound geht, aber mein
mplayer stockt total. hardwaremixing scheint immer noch nicht zu funktionieren.
apic geht jetzt. 5.1 sound kann ich auswählen, aber nicht richtig testen - habe nur ein klinkenkabel.

This driver isOSS type, so you must have enabled this option in your kernel. With xmms use the oss output, and with mplayer use the --channels 6 option.

Hi !!

Ich bin eigendlich ziemlich zufrieden mit dem treiber. Mplayer stockt zwar, aber vlc funktioniert wunderbar als ersatz.
Hardwaremixing tut, hab keine Probleme mit dem gleichzeitigen spielen von UT und xmms mugge.
Wenn mir jemand sagt wie, dann teste ich mal 5.1 sound. Muesste theoretisch schon funktionieren. Zumindest werden alle Boxen angesprochen.

Wie aktiviert man den 5.1 Sound bei Nvidia? wenn ich in der Konsole nvmixer eingebe kann ich das ganze zwar wunderbar einstellen ändern tut sich aber überhaupt nix. Bei meinem NForce Board ist übrigens ein RealTek Chip verbaut worden ALC650. Wird auch wunderbar als solcher von dem NVmixer erkannt.

nvidia graka treiber sollen ja auch nicht mit dem 2.6.10er kernel laufn. wird wohl auch bei den nforce treiber so sein. hab zwarn nforce board un den aktuellen kernel, aber hab eh ne soundkarte drin, also nutz ich die

@Fishxz: die Probleme mit aktuellen NVIDIA Grafiktreibern und Linux 2.6.10 treten zur Laufzeit auf, nicht bereits beim Übersetzen (um die Probleme zu beheben: http://www.linuxforen.de/forums/showpost.php?p=1035760&postcount=4).

Ich habe die Treiber gestern auch installiert. nun kommts mir aber so vor als ob seit dem *.mpg Files am stottern sind. *wmv, *.rm etc. sind nicht betroffen, nur bei *.mpg hackt es alles 5 sec. Ist das normal ( mit den Treibern ) ?

Wie deinstalliere ich die Treiber denn testweise wieder :D , installieren ging ja noch ganz einfach fürn Neuling, aber wie schmeiße ich sie wieder raus. :rolleyes:

Was benutzt du denn fuer nen player ?? Normal is das nicht....
wenn du mplayer benutzt, solltest du channel = "6" in deine config eintragen...
sonst wuerd ich erst mal die software updaten...
deinstallieren is eigndlich recht easy... musst halt das laden der nvsound.ko auskommentieren, meistens steht des ja in der modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.x
Und dann halt die kernel sourcen wieder umstellen.

@gotzl: Habe das gleiche Mainboard. Bei mir tut sich bei Sound aber überhaupt nichts. Kannst Du mir vielleicht verraten, wie Du den Sound eingerichtet hast? Yast zeigt mir an, dass der Sound läuft. Den aktuellen NVidia-Nforce-Treiber habe ich installiert. In modprobe.d habe ich die Sound-Datei geändert, indem ich den dort aufgeführten Standard snd-intel8x0 in nvsound geändert habe. Gleichwohl: Kein Ton!

Ooops! Habe jetzt unter yast bei sound unter optionen bei "Enable workaround usw. den bis dato offenen Wert mit "0" gefüllt. Seit dem funktioniert der Sound, unter kaffeine z. B. ohne jede Beanstandung. Wenn ich allerdings bestimmte Sounds aus dem Internet höre (z. B. Werbung über den Flashplayer usw.), dann ist der Sound reichlich verzerrt.
