"Boot-Freeze" mit neuem Kernel

Leute, ich hab nen Dell Inspiron 5150. darauf läuft Debian woody.
Ich hab mir heute die Kernelsource vom neusten release geholt, eingestellt und compiled.
Doch jetzt hab ich ein riesen Prob beim booten!
Er bleibt wärend des bootvorgangs stehen und die letzte meldung, die ich kriege ist:
ide0: BM-DMA at 0xbfa0-0xbfa7, BIOS settings: hda: DMA, hdb: pio
ide1: BM DMA at 0xbfa8-0xbfa7, BIOS settings: hdc: DMA, hdd: pio
danach is schluss... :(

Keiner, solange du nicht mit ein paar Infos mehr rausrückst. Kernelversion, Hardware, Kerneloptionen. Unsere Glaskugeln sind grad mal wieder in der Wäsche.

Hardware: Laptop von Dell, Inspiron 5150
-CPU: Intel Pentium IV Mobile, 3.06GHz
-Graphics: nVidia GeForce FX Go5200
-Network: Broadcom ethernet, TrueMobile 1300 wireless
-IDE: ATA-100, IDE 40GB Harddisk
-Sound: Intel Corp. 82801DB AC'97 Audio
Wie soll ich die Kerneloptionen angeben?

Das ist zwar eine Gentoo-Spezifische Dokumentation, aber die Kerneloptionen sind ja distributionsunabhängig. Evtl. hilft die weiter.
