Dropline Gnome 2.8

Dropline 2.8 ist draussen.......


Alright, most of the issues with the Release Candidates should be ironed out now. Totem is still being weird with some movies, HAL is not 100% reliable (but the whole point of using it lightly in GNOME 2.8 was to get more testing so that it will be really stable for 2.10), and the MIME thing is a big mess (ack!), but:

- gnome-python is down to a stable version (2.0.2)
- HAL has been patched to work with Python
- The DBus rc.d script has been fixed
- The Cups manager is working again

I think that puts us in good enough shape for a stable release while we try to sort out those few remaining issues. Thanks to everyone for reporting bugs and posting patches! Smile

Dropline Gnome ist vereinfacht gesagt ein Utility , um auf Slackware ein update auf die neueste Gnomeversion durchzuführen.

Es nimmt einem die lästige Arbeit (vorrausgesetzt man hat DSL).

Heute ist Dropline GNOME 2.6.2 freigegeben worden.
Dieses Update bringt auf Slackware den letzten Gnome Stand inclusive vieler Gnome Anwendungen. Da Dropline Gnome ein eigenes Installationsutility hat braucht man sich um nichts mehr zu kümmern. (DSL leitung vorrausgesetzt).
Dieses Release wurde auf Slackware 10 optimiert. Das Installationsutility orientiert sich stark an dem Orginal Slackware Setup.

Vieles wird schon vernünftig Vorkonfiguriert installiert, was man ja als Slackware User nicht gewohnt ist.

2.6.2 ? das neue hat doch die Bezeichnung Dropline 2.8.0 !!!
2.6.2 gibts doch schon ewig.
Nein und die 2.8.0 steht noch nicht auf der Dropline "LATEST NEWS" Seite ;)
Den torrent Link zur neuen Version gibts im "Dropline Forum - Development".
Bei mir läufts schon mal supi :)

Neuerungen sind:
Gnome 2.8
und Xorg 6.8.1
und viele neue Updates...

Naja, die News sind in etwa so aktuell wie die Zeitung von vor einer Woche ;)

Dropline Gnome 2.8 wurde noch nicht auf der Homepage angekündigt, was yusuf geschrieben hat handelte von Gnome 2.6.2 - das ist jedoch die alte Version!

Der Post von Porcupine war schon korrekt, es gibt noch keine offizielle Ankündigung, nur eben den kopierten Forenpost.
