make Xconfig geht nicht ????

Hallo

wenn ich in dem Ordner /usr/src/linux-2.6.8.1 make xconfig aufrufe dann kommt folgende Fehlermeldung :

Meine Frage nun was ist das und wie kann ich das beseitigen .
Bin Linuxneuling und hoffe auf konstruktive Vorschlaege .

Athlon XP 2000+ ; 80 GB WD (Windows XP); 10 GB IBM (Linux (SUSE 9,1) Kernel 2.6.8.1) 512 MB Ram ATI Radeon 9600Pro (mit Treiberproblem ) :eek:

Erst mal Danke fuer die schnelle Antwort .
Kann es sein das, das das QT auch fuer den ATI Treiber gebraucht wird ??

hmm... sag ich immer wieder die INSTALL/README datei lesen..

cat /usr/src/linux-2.6.x/README
....
- Alternate configuration commands are:
"make menuconfig" Text based color menus, radiolists & dialogs.
"make xconfig" X windows (Qt) based configuration tool.
"make gconfig" X windows (Gtk) based configuration tool.

Habe QT nun Nachinstalliert und als user kann ich im X-terminal auch xconfig starten (kommt aber dann das Fenster von qconf .
Als root geht es nicht kommt ne Fehlermeldung die so in etwa sagt kein connect zu x server ?
Oder is das normal ?
