ja ich kenne die suchfunktion
1. bin linux neuling alles neuland für mich :)
2. die fedora kiste bei mir zuhause hat mir nen kollege aufgesetzt der aber grad keine zeit hat mir den mailserver zu machen ausserdem würd ich des auch gern selbst können :)

habe per suchfunktion dass hier gefunden:

gute anleitung nur wenn ich wie bei punkt
3.2.8 beschrieben

kommt bei mir:

Bei allem Respekt, dann solltest du nicht unbedingt mit einem Mailserver anfangen.

In der main.cf erkenne ich jetzt keinen Fehler, kannst du bitte nochmal das log posten (/var/log/mail oder ähnlich)

Das war nicht das Log des Mailservers , sondern die Mailbox des Users root ;)

Wie gesagt /var/log/mail oder ähnlich posten.

mh wenn ich cd /var/log und dann mail eingebe komm ich immer dahin egal aus welchem verzeichnis raus ob ausm /
/etc
oder ausm home


es sei denn du meinst dass hier:

Logs kannst du dir so anschauen

less /var/log/mail.log oder halt die es so gibt, wenn dein System less nicht kennt, kannst du auch "more" oder "cat" oder die log datei mit einem Editor öffnen.
Um die letzen einträge im logfile anzuschauen reicht auch ein

tail /var/log/mail.log




[root@Proxy root]# telnet localhost 25
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.


Was ist denn daran nun so falsch?
Kannst da nun ein "ehlo localhost" eingeben und mal posten was er da so ausspuckt?

PS: Wenn du in irgendeinem Verzeichnis "mail" eingibts, ruft er immer das Programm "mail" auf und nicht die log oder so. Wenn du etwas im selben Verzeichnis ausführen möchtest machst du das mit ./DATEI doch da man eine Log nicht ausführen kann sondern nur anschauen, musst du halt cat, less, more, tail, head oder sonstiges verwenden (wie ich oben erklärt habe).

Als nächstes geht es an die Überprüfung der Erreichbarkeit. Dies können sie bequem mit einem simplen telnet auf den SMTP - Port erreichen:

also das "ehlo localhost" sollst du machen, wenn du "telnet localhost 25" eingegeben hast und dann kannst du da ja was eingeben, da dann "ehlo localhost" eingeben.

Leider sind die logs am ende abgeschnitten :( aber bis jetzt kann ich da nichts feststellen.
Was sagt denn "pstree"?

PS: Ja anscheint läuft der Mailserver, frag mich nur obs echt der postfix ist oder ob da noch ein anderer, alter, zwischenfunkt.

ehlo localhost bringt gar nichts wenn ich telnet localhost 25 mach und dann ehlo localhost eingeb dann passiert gar nichts der schiesst sich dann so ab dass ich putty neu starten muss

Ja wenn er telnet von seinem Windows Rechner macht.
Du kannst aber auch telnet auf dem Server ausführen, auch wenn du mit putty dran bist ;) Und dann ist es nunmal localhost

Poste mal den Inhalt von /etc/inetd.conf bzw. /etc/xinetd.conf

Ja pstree zeigt dir die laufenden Prozesse an.
Finde da aber keinen Mailserver.

Poste mal den Inhalt von /etc/inetd.conf bzw. /etc/xinetd.conf

hallo,

bin nicht ganz sicher, aber vor dem punkt 3.2.8 steht doch da bei 3.2.7 (bei dem link) das postfix neugestartet werden soll -- hast Du das gemacht ???

bei Fedora kenn ich mich leider nicht so aus wie unter Suse, da würde es ein "rcpostfix restart" tun. Im Allgemeinen wohl unter /etc/init.d/postfix denn wäre ein /etc/init.d/postfix restart von nöten...

Ich frage nur weil ich je 2* master und je 2*postfix prozesse sehe mit lsof -i :25

Edit:

Versuch mal ein postfix restart, bei mir ist neben dem master prozess noch ein prozess --> (lsof -i :25)

hallo,

es muss nicht so sein wie bei mir, ein smtp prozess jedenfalls scheint bei dir zu laufen.
Neue Idee mach doch bitte zwei putty-Verbindungen auf, auf dem einen gibst Du als root " tail -f /var/log/maillog " (das zeigt Dir "live" die Zugriffe aufs Mailsystem)
bei dem anderen putty machst Du denn nochmal ein " telnet localhost 25"

und beobachtest das erste putty und postest den Inhalt mal hier vielleicht kommt man dann dem Fehlerteufel auf die Spur...

edit : tail -f /var/log/maillog oder tail -f /var/log/mail.log -eins davon-

Hast du postmap canonical gemacht ?

Die anderen Meldungen sehen auch etwas komisch aus.

Dort kommen Absender und Empfänger Umschreibungen rein,

liegt normalerweise in /etc/postfix.

Wenn du sie nicht hast und, und du sie nicht brauchst, lösch sie einfach auf der main.cf

Das ist eine Binärdatei, das kann man nicht viel draus schließen.

Also existiert die Datei doch ?

In deinem Log File bemängelt er ja das Fehlen dieser Datei ?!?

die datei existiert auf jeden fall ich hab sie jetzt in der main.cf auskommentiert
nach einem neustart des systems bringt er mir jetzt:

also wenn ich dass richtig auslese versucht er auf den mailserver von gmx zu kommen, aber die zeit reicht nicht aus um eine verbindun herzustellen, die zeit stelle ich in der main cf irgendwo ein glaube ich oder?

die datei existiert auf jeden fall ich hab sie jetzt in der main.cf auskommentiert
nach einem neustart des systems bringt er mir jetzt:

Entferne erstmal den canonical Eintrag in der main.cf.

Und richtig, es erfolgt keine Verbindung zu mail.gmx.net

Läuft eventuell eine firewall, welche den Port 25 ausgehend blockt ?

Alternativ probiere mal von dem Server per telnet mail.gmx.net 25 auf den Server draufzukommen.

Eventuell stehst du bei gmx auch schon auf einer Blacklist ;)
