problem with the ALSA emulation where it only maintains volume state
during an open and not across sessions.

we set on the capture card itself.

command. Useful for writing scripts that do something after tvtime
quits from sleep mode.

Ich will ja nicht mit Kanonen auf Spatzen schießen, ich will nur eine simple Alternative zu Xine.

Allerdings war der DVB Support in MythTV auch nie wirklich brauchbar, da warte ich lieber bis Freevo besseren DVB Support bietet.

Es ist wohl kaum eine "simple" Alternative zu Xine...
Der grosse Unterschied ist, dass tvtime a) einen besseren Datendurchsatz und Deinterlacer als Xine bietet und b) weniger CPU-Power als Xine benötigt. (Bei meinem 3200+ spare ich damit 25%!)

Na dann solltest du dir auch mal regelmäßig die Xine Changelogs durchlesen. Xine verwendet nämlich die TV-Time Deiniterlace-Filter ;) (Allerdings nicht als default)

Kurzer Zwischenfrage:
Was ist den mit MythTV und DVB? Was ist schlecht daran? Ich wollte mir bald nen DVB-Karte holen, benutze momentan aber immer Mythtv... :/

Also ich habe beides nicht zum laufen gebracht, das war mein Problem. Ich hatte zwar irgendwelche Einstellmöglichkeiten im Options Menü, aber so wirklich etwas getan hatte sich da nicht...

Ausserdem wäre der ganze MySQL Ballast auch nicht wirklich nötig für ein derartiges Programm...
