nachdem ich mir nun sämtliche benötigte software installiert habe,
komme ich einfach bei der vmware-config.pl weiter.
hier einmal der Ablauf bei mir:
linux:/usr/src/linux # cd /usr/bin
linux:/usr/bin # vmware-config.pl

Stopping VMware services:
Virtual machine monitor done
