Slax ist eine bootfähige Live-CD basierend auf Slackware. Das ISO-Image passt auch auf eine Mini-CD oder 256 USB-Stick.
Es kann auch als Distri-Baukasten verwendet werden.

- added Linux Kernel 2.4.28-pre2 with SATA (libsata) support compiled in!
- added KDE 3.3.0, see new KDEpim!

- added rdesktop, KDE's krdc is using it
- added cheatcodes.txt to CD's root directory
- added mplayer 1.0-pre5, recompiled with alot of options
- added guisafe and guifast boot options
- kolourpaint is a standard part of KDE now
- fixed autorun.inf
- fixed xconf script (remove doubled refresh values)
- modified gui.conf, default horizsync is now 30-64
- dbdiff shows error message while restoring config from different SLAX version
- fixed slax-install script
- preserve package data in /var to allow removing packages after slax-install
- fixed loading SLAX by using loadlin (initrd size wasn't updated to 9999)
- remove card decorations for Patience
