Hallo,
ich habe folgendes Problem und bin um jede Hilfe dankbar.
Ich habe eine Laptop HP mit einer Grafikkarte von Nvidia Geforce4 440 go.
Installiert habe ich Win XP.
Zusätzlich habe ich Linux Suse 9.0 installiert, doch da habe ich Probleme mit dem Treiber.
Wenn ich die Bildauflösung ändere u bestätige, dann erscheint aunf Monitor nur noch streifen und ich kann nichts mehr lesen.
Unter Windows hab ich die Einstellung 1280*800 und 32bit Farbtiefe.
Ich möchte auch diese Werte in Linux haben, leider wie gesagt, stürzt der "Bild" im Monitor immer ab.
Könntet ihr mir helfen oder sagen, was ich falsch mach oder was mein Problem für die Streifen im Bild sind?
Ich muß dazu sagen, ich habe Linux erst seit 2 Tagen und kenne mich von daher nicht so gut aus.

soll ich des mal löschen oder wie. sorry. hab von linux null plan.
was ist die xorg.conf bzw xfree86-4?
im verzeichnis x11 gibt es bei mir die dateien xf86.config, xf86.config.yast2save, xf86.config.saxsave, xf86.config_31.5k

wenn ich mich mit root anmelde u unter etc schauen finde ich kein verzeichnis x11
nein, das heißt nicht "x11", sondern "X11"! Linux unterscheidet immer zwischen Groß- und Kleinschreibung.
In diesem Verzeichnis findest Du mindestens eine Datei aus der folgenden Auswahl:
- xorg.conf
- XF86Config-4
- XF86Config

"posten" kommt vom englischen Wort "(to) post" und heisst so viel wie "absenden", allerdings heisst es in einem Forum, dass man das, worauf es sich bezieht, veröffentlichen soll (als ans Forum absenden).
Hat nichts mit Linux zu tun, es heisst nur, dass du den Inhalt der Datei hier veröffentlichen sollst.
Am besten packst du den Inhalt der Datei wenn du die Nachricht schreibst so rein:
Inhalt der Datei[/code ]
Du musst aber das Leerzeichen nach "code" rausnehmen, ich habe es nur reingepackt damit es nicht vom Forum erkannt wird und so aussieht:
[code]Inhalt der Datei
Dann ist das ganze schön Übersichtlich :D

Hab noch FX86Config.YastT2save, FX86Config.saxsave, FX86Config_31.5k
Muß noch dazu sagen, das ich die Einstellung von Win xp auf 1200*800 Pixel habe.

Hi,
hab jetzt den Inhalt der Datei gepostet.
Hätten noch eine Frage.
Habe in einer Howto.txt gelesen, man soll das nvidia-Kernelmodul mit rmmod nvidia entfernen.
Wie mach ich das, wie heißt die Datei genau u wo finde ich die.
