Folgendes Problem mit WineX 3.3 (Binary) und Steam. Die Installation von Steam klappt einwandfrei und ich kann mich auch mit meinen Steam Daten einloggen. Doch wenn ich z.b. Counterstrike starten will, wird der Bildschirm kurz schwarz und es wird folgende Meldung ausgegeben: "Fatal Error: W_LoadWadFile: couldn't load gfx.wad".
Wo sollte den diese Datei (gfx.wad) normalerweise liegen bzw wo bekomm ich die her?

Hat sich erledigt. Er ist wohl beim Updaten beim ersten Mal abgestürzt. Habe es nochmal neu aufgesetzt und jetzt gehts. Nur mit der Performance bin ich alles andere als zufrieden. An manchen Stellen gerade mal 10-15 FPS. *ruckel-ruckel*

Für das Fps-problem ??? Bin grad am suchen...;)

@ Flow..kannst du mal dein System posten..mir gehts mit den fps ähnlich..

hier für diejenigen, die nicht in der lage sind die release notes zu lesen.


[x11drv] VideoRam & AGPVertexRam: These two options indicate
how much Video and AGP memory, respectively, WineX may use. The
values are expressed in MB. VideoRam is limited to 256MB. If these
options are not present, they will both default to 32MB. You should
set these values to what your system supports to get the best
performance from WineX.

Weiss wie toll es ist alles 10mal zu erklären, obwohl der link hier sowieso irgendwo rumfliegt..

hmm ich hab auch das problem mit der gfx.wad ... wenn ich steam neu installiere dann gehts für den ersten start und dann kommt der error wieder

also ich hab mir meine config mal angeschaut und finde diese einstellung einfach nicht..

würde auch gerne wenn möglich vertikales synchronisierwn austellen...

Mein System steht im Profil: P4 2.0 Ghz, GeForce 4 Ti 4200... Das mit der winex Config von wegen memory einstellen hatte ich auch schon vorher gemacht trotzdem is die Performance unter aller Kanone. Und das mit der gfx.wad kann man übrigens umgehen, indem man ins steam-verzeichnis cdird und dort winex3 STEAM.exe ausführt. Der Fehler kommt nur wenn man Steam über das Desktop Symbol startet.

Bin grad nicht zu hause, wie kann ich bei meiner wine ver. überprüfen wieviel ram von meiner graka benutzt werden, siehe gladiacs post-

hab die befehle eingefügt, weiss aber ned ob ed gefunzt hat.

geholt...habe ich jetzt winex 3.3 ? Denn "winex" ist ein unbekannterbefehl..ich muss steam mit "wine" öffnen...

in jedem howto ist irgendein ein andere befehl dabei, und irgendwie gibts da auch mehrer..krass...ich blick nich durch
