hi
ich möchte meinen anonymous login mit passwort ausstatten. dazu hab ich für den user ftp ein passwort erstellt.
in meiner config datei steht das:

<Anonymous ~ftp>

<Limit LOGIN>
AllowAll
</Limit>

RequireValidShell off
User ftp
Group ftp
AnonRequirePassword on

UserAlias anonymous ftp
....


das problem:
wenn ich in mozilla ftp://localhost eingebe kommt die meldung "530 Login incorrect".
mit ftp://ftp@localhost kommt ein passworteingabefeld und der zugriff klappt.
mit ftp://anonymous@localhost kommt ebenfalls die meldung "530 Login incorrect".
bei gftp passiert das gleiche. kann mich nur einloggen wenn ich als user ftp angebe.

ich würd aber gern ohne das ftp@ auskommen. dachte der UserAlias reicht dafür aus.

Sorry, die eine Zeile hab ich glatt überlesen.


Edit: Würde sagen, anonymous mit Passwort geht nicht. Zumindest kommt bei mir der selbe Fehler wie bei Dir, wenn ich aufn Server will.

wie ich das versteh gibt es ja keinen standard für anonymous logins. manche browser benutzen ftp und manche anonymous als login name. mit ftp klappts ja anscheinend nur mit anonymous nicht. ich frag mich nur wieso das mit dem UserAlias anonymous ftp nicht funktioniert...
