Hallo,

so ich habe mir jetzt SuSE 9.0 auf meinen PC gemacht. Wunderbar, allerdings wieder mein Problem mit den NVidia Treibern. Ich hab eine GeForce Ti 4200. Automatisch wurde die schonmal nicht erkannt. Also nachinstallieren...
Ich hab mir die Treiber von der Nvidia Webside geladen und versucht zu installieren. Meldung: Ich hab keine Kernel Source. Okay also den Source vom SuSE-FTP geladen. Schön, das brauch ein Extra Packet was ich im ganzen Internet einfach nicht finde. Über Yast geht auch garnix! Hab nen Internet Update versucht, aber mein System will immer noch den Kernel-Source...

Also bin ich in SaX rein und hab einfach die Treiber ausgewählt für meine GeForce und hab die aktiviert. Und es ist das passiert was ich mir gleich schon gedacht habe:
Beim nächsten Hochfahren will der X-Server nicht hochfahren.

Zu was würdet ihr mir jetzt raten, damit endlich alles funktioniert?

Hi,

da steht drin dass ich die Kernel Source installieren soll per Yast update. Ich hab über Yast mein ganzes System upgedatet, trotzdem kommt bei der Installation ständig der Fehler dass er wegen dem Kernel nicht installieren kann.

Ich hab doch den blöden Kernel-Source installiert...

Ich versteh das nicht :(

Kernelsource ist installt, make lt. Nvidia Howto ausgeführt und es geht nüschte.
Im moment ist ein älterer Treiber installt, aber der funzt nicht richtig.

Was mache ich falsch?

Ich versteh das auch nicht.
Die Karte müsste doch am Anfang schon erkannt werden. Dass man sie dann noch nicht mal installieren kann.
Linux und NVidia.......
Ich hatte bis jetzt jedes mal Probleme damit!

Also, neuster Stand.
NVIDIA-Installer sagt, Treiber installiert.
Sax2 sagt nö :(

Was soll das?

Treiber ist der neuste. SuSe9.0 mit Kernel 2.4.24-166, die Karte ist ein GF4TI4200.
Installation läuft sauber durch.
