Mozilla Thunderbird 0.4

Das eMail Programm Thunderbird in der Version 0.4 ist seit 05.12 verfügbar.
Mein absoluter Favorit unter den eMail Progies. Download und Release hier... (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/thunderbird/release-notes.html)

Was mir gleich aufgefallen ist, das Standard Theme sieht jetzt schon ziemlich schick aus :)

Ich nutze den Thunderbird seit der Version 0.1 und bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Programm.
Kann nur jedem empfehlen,den Thunderbird mal auszuprobieren.

What's New
The following list of progress highlights is summarized from a more complete change log.

* Improved Look

The default theme for Mozilla Thunderbird has taken a huge leap forward. The theme is about 90% complete with only a few "classic" looking icons remaining.

The message list pane now shows status for reply, forward and unread as icons directly on the message envelope instead of using text.

The message list pane now has a separate sortable column for attachment status on a message.

The Windows animated alert has a new look and feel. It now shows the Account name instead of your server user name.
* Improved Interoperability With the OS

Linux: Thunderbird properly dispatches browser URLs to the default browser. Read more about how to hook this up.

Mac OS X: Added a Windows menu which makes it easier to manage open Thunderbird windows. The menu bar behaves correctly after closing all open windows. Mozilla Firebird and Thunderbird can be run at the same time with out the two builds interfering with URL dispatching between applications.

Windows: Thunderbird can be set as the default mail client and/or as the default news client.

Windows users can copy and paste images (including screen shots) from the Windows clipboard into HTML mail compose.

Only mark a message as read when it has been open in the preview pane for a configurable number of seconds.

More options for customizing toolbars the way you want them. Enchancements include: a mark button in the main mail window and copy/cut/paste icons in mail compose.

Profile Migration from Netscape 4.x has seen a lot of improvements.

A Palm Sync Address book conduit extension is now available for Thunderbird 0.4.

POP Accounts now support aging on the server.
* Recently Fixed Bugs

No more new mail alert notifications when the incoming messages are Junk.

The progress bar now appears in the mail 3-pane window when reporting progress for operations like downloading new mail or a message body.

Auto Proxy URLs now work.

POP Accounts: "Click here to download the rest of the message" now works.

POP Accounts: A new filter action to delete a message from POP3 server if messages are left on the server by default.

Junk Folder Purging works on all accounts and not just the first one.

If you configure a mail server to use secure authentication but the server does not support it, Thunderbird no longer silently falls back to insecure authentication. Thunderbird brings up an error dialog and refuse to connect to the server.

News error dialogs no longer hang the application.

HTML Anchors in messages work.

When threads are sorted by date, Thunderbird sorts by the newest message in the thread.

Ich hatte mal früher Thunderbird ausprobiert, damals fand ich es nicht so gut und habs deswegen eigentlich nie wieder benutzt. Nun hab ichs mir mal runtergeladen und siehe da, es ist super!

Gibt es dafür auch eine Deutsche Sprachdatei? Wenn ja, wo?

Wie kann ich Thunderbird sagen, dass er bei links den Firebird öffnen soll?

bei Gnome kann man bei
Desktop Einstellungen / Komplex / Bevorzugte Anwendungen
den Standard Browser angeben, der wird dann einfach verwendet.

Hat das auch schon einer unter KDE hinbekommen ?
Trotz Einstellung von Firebird als Standartbrowser (über Dateizuordnungen->text->html) verweigert Thunderbird das Öffnen von http-Links.

Alternatively, you can explicitly tell Mozilla Thunderbird which shell script should be run for particular urls by setting the following user preferences to Thunderbird (don't forget to change the path and name to point to your shell script):

Und diese "user preferences" sind genau wo ? In der Datei pref.js steht's schon drin, geht aber trotzdem nicht.

Direkter Mail-Export Opera - Mozilla/Thunderbird Es funktioniert wie beschrieben (für alle, die sich noch dran versuchen wollen ...)

In Opera - entsprechenden "Ordner" rechts anklicken
- exportieren (in *.mbs)
Im Explorer - Datei ins entsprechende Mailverzeichnis stellen
- umbenennen in **** (keine Dateiendung!!)
Mozilla/Thunderbird (schließen und) öffnen

noe geht nit. hab keine export option. aber danke :)
hmm hab grad was merkwuerdiges rausgefunden. wenn ich firebird starte, dann in der konsole MozillaFirebird -remote "openurl(http://www.mozilla.org, new-tab)" wird n neues tab geoefnet. oefne ich dazu noch thunderbird und geb das wieder ein. kommt der fehler: Failed to send command.
schliess ich beides wieder und starte zuerst thunderbird und dann firebird und gebe das nochmal ein geht das wunderbar :( so ein mist also will firebird, wenn ich ihn mit remote zu einem neuen tab bewegen will, das neue tab in thunderbird oefnen :-((((((( so was doofes pfff. muss ich wohl bei copy n paste bleiben :mad:
