Postfix kann nicht gestartet werden

Halloa,
ich habe einen eServer, mit Suse 8.0 und Postfix. So wie Imap.

Wenn ich nun Postfix staretn möchte, macht der Server das leider nicht. Eine Fehlermeldung habe ich auch nicht bekommen.

Muss ich nicht noch in Postfix irgendwo MTA eintragen????

Wenn Ja, dann bitte wie und wo ich das machen muss

wie startest du denn den postfix?
welche ausgabe bekommst du bei "rcpostfix start"?

Also ich starte den Postfix eigendlich immer über den Webmin.

da bekomme ich keine Ausgabe..


Wenn ich das eintrage, was du gerade geschrieben hast, dann bekomme ich

aber an ist es nicht

ja doch, "Starting mail service (Postfix) done" sagt dir das der dienst getstartet wurde.

mach mal ein "ps ax", in der ausgabe müsstest du sowas "/usr/lib/postfix/master" finden, dann ist er gestartet.

zum überprüfen kannste auch ein "telnet smtp.host.tld 25" machen, wenn dann:
"220 smtp.host.tld ESMTP Postfix on bla ..." kommt, ist er wirklich gestartet.

ääh ne

mit smtp.host.tld meine ich den namen/ip deines servers,
gib mal in der konsole "telnet 127.0.0.1 25" ein.

was sagt denn das maillog?

Also auch wenn ich:
telnet daf4f.de 25 ( auch wenn ich 127.0.0.1 25) eingebe

das eingebe, dann bekomme ich


bash: telnet: command not found

also auf dem ding läuft wohl noch sendmail, ich würde jetzt erstmal versuchen sendmail zu killen und dann postfix zu starten.
