Hallo!

Nachdem ich mich nun durch sehr viele Dokumentationen über die ATI-Grafikkarten durchgelesen habe und denke, dass ich alles so weit richtig gemacht haben sollte, brauche ich nun doch weitere Hilfe und muss hier schreiben ...

Ich habe z. B. das Spiel Ultimate Stunts installiert ... und es läuft einfach nicht, nichteinmal eine Dia-Show ist das.

Ich weiß nun nicht genau, wie ich das Problem weiter beschreiben soll oder was ich euch noch für Informationen geben kann.

OpenGL läuft nicht auf dem ati-Treiber, sondern nur MESA. Du hast offensichtlich das Kernel-Modul nicht geladen. Mach mal:

lsmod | grep fglrx

Wenn fglrx nicht gemeldet wird, dann versuch mal, das Modul zu laden (als root):

modprobe fglrx

Wenn eine Fehlermeldung kommt -> posten bzw. das Modul noch installieren.

Ok, wenn ich

lsmod | grep fglrx

eingebe, kommt folgende Meldung:

und bei

modprobe fglrx

kommt keine Meldung.

Die xorg.conf gibt es zwei mal, und das mit unterschiedlichen Inhalten. Tut mir leid, dass es jetzt lang wird, aber ich weiß nicht welche wir brauchen um mein Problem zu lösen.

zunächst sollte nur die xorg.conf in /etc/X11 massgeblich sein.

In Deiner log machen mir zwei Meldungen Sorge:

Zu 2: Check doch mal bitte, ob Du nebst dem ati-Binary von ati.com noch andere fglrx-/ati-Pakete in YaST installiert hast. Mich wundert, dass das Modul korrekt geladen ist (s. o.) und xorg dennoch einen Fehler ausspuckt.

EDIT: In Deiner Grafik oben zweigt nennt ati-control-panel Treiber 8.31.05, aber Xorg.0.log nennt 8.26.18. Hast Du evtl. noch Reste vorhergegangener Versuche auf Deiner Platte?

Nun gut, es wird schon sehr speziell ... für mich jedenfalls so das ich vielleicht nicht mehr so ganz folgen kann ...

Also folgendes habe ich gemacht:

Erstmal habe ich drauf losinstalliert ohne nachzudenken, da war "ati-driver-installer-8.27.10-x86.run". Dann hat es natürlich noch nicht geklappt und ich habe überall geguckt was ich machen muss damit es klappt. Dann bin ich auf die HOWTO-Seite gestoßen und da kam dann die Erleuchtung mit dem Kernel.

Ich habe dann also die Paketquelle in Yast hinzugefügt und den aktuellen Treiber runtergeladen "ati-driver-installer-8.31.5-x86.x86_64.run (Automated installer and Display Drivers for XFree86 4.3 and X.Org 6.7, 6.8, 6.9, 7.0, 7.1)". Dann über Yast "ati-fglrx-kmp-default" und "x11-video-gflrx" installiert. Daher kommt auch die Version 8.26.18-2. Anschließend habe ich dann den runtergeladenen Traiber von ATI installiert, also den 8.31.5 ... und so wurde es zu dem was es jetzt ist. Muss ich also den ATI-Treiber in der Version 8.27.10 finden und installieren?

wenn es in den YaST-Quellen nur den 8.27 hat, dann würde ich es erstmal mit diesem versuchen. Nur mischen würde ich die Versionen nicht. Wenn Du das schaffst, kannst Du nochmal schauen, ob Du im ati-control-panel auch die 8.27 angezeigt bekommst. Dann hat das geklappt.
Ausserdem muss im ati-control-panel nebst OpenGL/Vendor ebenfalls ATI angegeben sein.

Hi! Danke für all die Hilfestellungen ... leider noch immer kein Erfolg.

Ich habe einfach nochmal alles deinstallert und dann verschiedene Varianten probiert. Ich habe die Pakete der YAST-Quelle Deinstalliert und mit dem Treiber von ATI das rpm-Paket erstellt und versucht es zu installieren. Ging nicht, kam eine Fehlermeldung das irgendwas nicht vollständig sei.

IDann habe ich die YAST-Quell-Pakete wieder installiert und anschießend das Paket von ATI installiert, nicht das RPM, sondern den Installer ausgeführt und dann in die LOG-Datei geguckt:

1. OK, 2 Treiber gleichzeitig ist schonmal ne schlechte Idee.

2. Den Installer von ATI ohne die Option, ein rpm für SuSE zu bauen auszuführen, ist die zweite schlechte Idee, denn damit ist die Deinstallation schwerer.

3. Es fehlt mal wieder die Hälfte, zumindest das Paket compat-expat1 und die Kernelquellen, sofern ein selbstgebauter Treiber zum Einsatz kommen soll.

Das Paket compat-expat1 ist aber AFAIK so oder so Pflicht, egal ob fertiger Treiber aus dem ATI-Repository oder selbstgebaut.

Die Kernelquellen müssen auf JEDEN Fall auch zur Kernelversion passen (Versionsnummer!) und sollte ein selbstgebauter Treiber eingesetzt werden, dann sind natürlich die beiden anderen Pakete zu ENTFERNEN.

Danke ... das klingt alles sehr schlüssig und hat auch schon teilweise geklappt ... ich denke der Fehler liegt nun noch bei den alten Treibern ... oder? Wie bekomme ich die denn weg?

Folgende Meldung kam bei der Installation:
