Brother HL-5250DN

Ich habe einen Drucker HL-5250DN den bekomme ich unter Suse 11.2 nicht zum Drucken. Er wird erkannt, aber die Testseite wird schon nicht korrekt gedruckt-denke ich.

Wie weiter? Drucker wieder weg und einen der kompatibel ist und auch druckt kaufen?

Für den Drucker gibt es vom Hersteller Treiber für Linux. Verwendest du diesen, und auch die aktuellste Version?
Ist dein CUPS aktuell? Ist die CUPS-Version kompatibel zum Druckertreiber?
/var/log/cups/error.log?

An sich sollte der Drucker funktionieren. Habe mit dem Brother-Treiber (für den HL 2030) nur gute Erfahrungen gemacht.

der drucker wird 100% unterstuetzt...

1. Druckst du über LAN oder USB?
2. Hast du den Brother BR-Script3 treiber in verwendung?

Normal laufen die Brother Drucker problemlos unter Linux.

Ich drucke parallel. Sollte ich das ändern? Der Drucker gibt drei Möglichkeiten her parallel, Lan, USB. Wie stelle ich fest ob ein script-3 Treiber installiert ist? Ich versuche es mit dem Linuxtreiber von der Brotherseite. Hin und wieder druckt er auch die Cups - Testseite aber aus der Textverarbeitung heraus geht nichts. Mich treibt zum Glück nichts aber wenn er drucken würde wärs echt der Hit.

Ich habe es!
Die Lösung ist:
1. Drucker nicht parallel sondern per USB anschliessen.
2. ghostscript updaten
3. Treiber von der Brotherseite holen
4. Die in der FAQ auf der Brotherseite gemachten Tips bzgl. 64bit OS und Linux 11.2 befolgen.

Jetzt druckt der Drucker!
