    Cool Linux wird bei Video zu heiß -> Abstutz

    Hallo zusammen,

    vorweg: Das ist mein erster Beitrag in diesem Forum. Ich hoffe ich habe die richtige Rubrik erwischt und ich hoffe, nicht gleich in alle Fettnäpchen zu treten.

    Zum Thema:
    Wie im Titel nicht ganz richtig genannt, wird nicht Linux zu warm, sondern mein Laptop, Lenovo Thinkpad Edge mit Intel Core i3 Prozessor und onboard Grafik Karte. Es müsste sich um das Edge E320 handeln.
    Das Laptop läuft eigentlich immer mit drehendem Lüfter. Auch jetzt gerade, während ich in diesem Forum schreibe. Der Lüfter dreht volle Pulle bei der Wiedergabe von Videos (youtoube etc). Das reicht soweit, dass das Gerät einfach abschaltet und nach einem kurzen Moment wieder hoch fährt. An diese Situation hatte ich mich eigentlich gewöhnt, und dachte es läge daran, dass das Laptop schon zum alten Eisen gehört. Neulich hatte ich aber Windows 7 laufen (parallel installiert und selten genutzt) und schaute ebenfalls fern. Dabei war der Lüfter nicht zu hören und das Gerät war wesentlich kühler.

    Bevor ich mich dann hier im Forum angemeldet hatte, habe ich per google nach einer Lösung gesucht. Ziemlich schnell habe ich herausgefunden, dass vielleicht fehlende Grafikkartentreiber schuld sein können.     Allerdings nicht für meine Onboard Karte von Intel. Weil ich sonst nicht fündig geworden bin, bin ich jetzt bei euch gelandet...

    Noch ein paar Infos zu meinem System: Installiert war bis gestern: Linux Mint 17.2 (Cinnamon) und seit gestern dann (aus Verzweifelung geupdated). Hier mal die aktuellen Infos:



    Ich hoffe, dass ihr mir weiterhelfen könnt. Wie gesagt, ich habe google bemüht und bin nicht fündig geworden. Ich kann mir trotzdem nicht vorstellen der Einzige mit einem solchen Problem zu sein. Deshalb hoffe ich euch nicht zu langweilen oder zu nerven.
    Ich nutze Linux schon seit ein paar Jahren, bin aber eher der "Nutzer" und weniger der "Versteher". Dewegen erklärts bitte etwas ausführlicher...

    Hallo,

    für die Intel GraKa on Bord ist der Treiber im Linux Kernel drin, da brauchst du nichts zu installieren.
    Es muss einen anderen Grund für die thermischen Probleme geben.

    Hast du schon mal die Lüftungsöffnungen ausgeblasen bzw. das Gehäuse geöffnet und den Rechner gesäubert?

    Hilft das schon einmal weiter?:



    Die Lüftungsöffnungen habe ich zumindest mal ausgesaugt. Ich habe ja auch geglaubt, dass der Lüfter vielleicht mal gereinigt gehört. Aber unter Windows war totenstille vom Lüfter und Wärmeentwicklung quasi nicht vorhanden...

    glxinfo | grep Device
    Eigentlich will ich nur wissen welche Grafikkarte du genau hast und ausschließen, dass es eine von den Problem Chip's ist, die in dem Ubuntu Wiki stehen.
    Wenn das das genannte Thinkpad ist müsstest du eine Intel HD 3000 haben und es sollte so eigentlich passen.

    Lüfter durchblasen und neue Wärmeleitpaste drauf kann nie schaden, aber wenn das unter Windows 7 nicht auftritt, dann liegt das schon irgendwo bei der Software.

    Hast die Prozesse schon unter die Lupe genommen?

    Da das unter Windows funktioniert, würde ich ein Hardwareproblem erst Mal ausschließen. Eine Reinigung der Lüftungswege durch aufschrauben und ausblasen - sofern es nicht ein total schlecht zugänglichen Aufbau hat, kann aber nicht schaden.

    Vorbemerkung: Alle hier aufgeführten Befehle in einem Root-Terminal ausführen.

    Spontaner Gedanke wäre, dass vielleicht Firmware fehlt, als mal nach dem Rechnerstart auf der Konsole als root schauen nach entsprechenden Fehlermeldungen, hiermit:

    Aber nur wenn du Firefox öffnest?
    Der Prozess plugin-con(tainer?) gehört zu Firefox?

    "glxinfo | grep Device" liefert keine Ergebnisse? Mach mal nur

    Kommt da ne Ausgabe? Und dann das Fenster mit Zahnrädchen? Drehen die sich flüssig?

    Mit cpupower könntest du den Takt erstmal so begrenzen, dass er nicht ständig so heiß läuft.

    Dann habe ich gerade probiert die firmware zu installieren auf die fork verwiesen hat. Allerdings weiß ich nicht genau wo ich den Root Terminal finde???

    Nach meinem Verständnis speichert der bei einem Absturz die aktuellen Inhalte.

    Die Edith: Ich lese gerade über firefox und was man machen kann wenn der die CPU zu sehr belastet, nebenbei installiert das Firefox update. Temperaturen um die 60°C und der Lüfter lüftet leise vor sich hin... Ne, normal ist das so nicht. Es scheint also unabhängig von der Videowiedergabe zu sein, wobei die das Problem bis zum Absturz verstärkt.

    Ja, nee, im Plugin-Container läuft der Flashplayer. Tja, das sieht eigentlich alles soweit in Ordnung aus - nur dass der Flashplayer (und Firefox) die CPU voll in Anspruch nehmen und diese dadurch sehr heiß wird. Der Flashplayer hat mit Linux nie eine große Liebe verbunden. Kann gut sein, dass er unter Windows effizienter ist (nicht so viel CPU braucht). Ich kann nur empfehlen: mach einen Bogen um Flash-Inhalte. Die sterben zum Glück ohnehin in absehbarer Zeit aus.
