Ich bin gestern von XP auf Ubuntu 10.10 umgestiegen, erstmal die Festplatte formatiert und dann Ubuntu 10.10 drauf installiert (von der offiziellen CD).
Der Monitor ist über VGA angeschlossen, über den USB-Treiber habe ich mich auch gewundert...
Auf einem Bildschirmfoto und mit VNC sieht alles ganz normal aus, also ohne diese Striche.
Auf der Live-CD passiert genau das gleiche Problem, auch mit der Linux Mint 9 Live CD.
Und am Monitor liegt es anscheinend nicht denn ich habe es auch an einem anderen Monitor (22" 1680x1050) ausprobiert, da passiert das gleiche. Unter Windows XP ist dieses Problem nie aufgetreten.
Die Ausgaben vom Terminal poste ich gleich direkt vom Ubuntu-PC.

Ich habe vor alle Befehle noch ein sudo gesetzt, bei dem ersten Befehl hat er nämlich erst "....run as superuser....." ausgegeben, dann hab ich einfach gleich alle als superuser/root ausgeführt...
