    USB "device not accepting address XX, error -110"

    Hallo,
    zum ersten mal Linux openSUSE 10.2 installiert, USB Geräte werden nicht erkannt (Fehlermeldung). Evtl. Konflikt mit BIOS Einstellungen (IRQ)? Wenn ein USB Gerät angeschlossen wird, wird die Adresse in der Fehlermeldung ständig erhöht.
    Habe im BIOS mal USB für Maus und Keyboard disabled, ohne Erfolg, Option für Umstellung von 2.0 auf 1.1 konnte ich im BIOS nicht finden, etc. Evtl. auch P'n'P, PCI Einstellungen prüfen/ändern?

    Ich habe das gleiche Problem. Es hat was mit USB 2.0 und was weis ich zu tun. Helfen tut auf jedenfall ein das Modul ehci-hcd zu entfernen. Du hast nicht zufaellig nen T41? Ist auf jedenfall ein Hardware Problem.

    Es kann helfen einen USB1-Hub zwischen zu schalten.
    Damit hat es bei mir funktioniert.

    Irgendwie viel zu umstaendlich bei nem Laptop. Aber ist auf jedenfall ne Loesung fuer "normale" Computer.

    Also ich habe das ehci_hcd auch eingetragen als Kernel-Option

    brokenmodules=ehci_hcd

    und in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

    blacklist ehci_hcd

    Dann wundert euch allerdings auch nicht, dass die neue USB-Platte immer nur mit 1 MB/s arbeitet

    Eine mögliche Lösung scheint zu sein:

    Q: Why doesn't USB work at all? I get "device not accepting address".
    A: You may have some problem with your PCI setup that's preventing your USB host controller from getting hardware interrupts. When Linux submits a request, but never hears back from the controller, this is the diagnostic you'll see. To see if this is the problem, look at /proc/interrupts to see if the interrupt count for your host controller driver ever goes up. If it doesn't, this is the problem: either your BIOS isn't telling the truth to Linux (ACPI sometimes confuses these things, or setting the expected OS to windows in your BIOS), or Linux doesn't understand what it's saying.
    "Da steht sowas ähnliches wie" oder "das funzt net!!" ist keine Fehlermeldung!
