Kein Ton und kein Fehler

Hallo... ich habe ein Debian unstable system mit kernel 2.6.15-1-686
nun habe ich, da ich das system einmal neu aufgespielt habe die kernel headers, sowie die beiden treiber von nvidia installiert... soweit ich es sehe sind die module geladen...
lsmod ergibt u.a.
snd 48420 12 snd_mpu401,snd_mpu401_uart,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq_dev ice,snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm,snd_timer
soundcore 8928 2 nvsound,snd

auch beim booten werden module dazu angezeigt... kann so schnell leider nicht mitlesen

was kann man nun tun wenn doch kein sound kommt?

a) Ein Soundprogramm aus der Konsole starten (amarok, xmms oder Konsorten) und auf Fehlermeldungen achten.
b) Harwareseitig ist alles angeschlossen?

hallo... danke für die antwort...
ist dmesg das log vom booten? wenn ja danke... aber da steht recht viel und so sachen wie soundcore, nvsound, audio usw usw tauchen mehrmals auf, ich kann jedoch bei meinem jetztigen wissenstand keine fehler entdecken :S

ich hab mal aus den systemeinstellungen diesen arts soundserver monitor gestartet... wenn ich was mache schlägt der aus... der equalizer von amarok zeigt auch was an wenn ich nen lied "abspiele" ... der pc scheint also zu denken er macht musik ^^
nur leider hört man nix :/

Was sagen Deine Mixereinstellungen? Prüf insbesondere master und pcm Regler... Und wenn Du aus dem boot-log (dmesg) nicht schlau wirst, kannst Du es auch hierher posten. Bitte beachte meine sig...

Nachtrag: Abtippen ist nicht erforderlich. Entweder Du leitest die Ausgabe von dmesg in eine Datei und schickst sie als Anhang (dmesg > /die/datei.txt) oder Du verwendest Paste&Copy...

Wenn Du GNOME oder KDE verwendest solltest Du den Mixer (welchen nimmst Du?) finden. Sowohl bei GNOME als auch bei KDE unter 'Multimedia-Lautstärkeregler'.
Für die dmesg brauche ich ein bisschen...

puhh... also ich nehm kde und unter multimedia hab ich nur amarok und die 2 arts sachen... muss mich mal nach dem paket umsehen...
ich hab hier erstmal nur das nötigste installiert damit ich die ganzen abhängigkeiten begreife...
bin halt nen neuling was linux anbelangt...

Tröste dich, das hat schon ganz andere in die Verzweiflung getrieben. Alsa wird dummerweise "stummgeschaltet" ausgeliefert (wahlweise um Gehörschäden vorzubeugen, damit man sich nicht erschreckt, wenn auf einmal unvermutete Töne aus den Lautsprechern kommen oder um ein kompliziertes Gleichnis über die Realität ("wenn im Internet Musik spielt, aber deine Soundkarte ist auf stumm geschaltet, verursacht sie Trozdem ein Geräusch?") zu erzeugen)
