    In 6 Schritten 3D Unterstützung mit ATI.

    Ich habe dies schon zweimal so gemacht, bei einem Desktop PC i386 mit suse Linux 10.0. Und mit einem Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M1425 Notebook, und habe es immer so gemacht:

    Das ganze Tutorial als root user machen.

    GCC muss installiert sein, da beim fünften Schritt, kompiliert wird, ich habe Version 4 von GCC eingesetzt. Die Kernel-Sourcen müssen ebenfalls installiert sein, und muss mit dem eingesetzen Kernel übereinstimmen. Das heisst die Version muss gleich sein. Wer die Kernel Sourcen erst jetzt installiert muss höchstwahrscheinlich noch das YOU Yast online update durchführen. Der Check ob es Kernel updates gibt sollte auf jeden Fall gemacht werden, da sonst die letzen Punkte 4-fertig wiederhohlt werden müssen, wenn es wieder Kernel Updates gibt.

    Ich benutze Kernel 2.6.13

    Die ATI Treiber Version bei mir war 8.18.8.

    1. Ati Treiber downloaden und installieren (Konsole: sh name.run)
    2. ATI Treiber installieren, Distribuion spezifische Pakete, also rpm oder deb Paket machen, für Suse oder die Distribution die man einsetzt. Drauf achten, wo das Paket am schluss ist.

    3.In der Konsole fglrxconfig:

    SCHRITT 1:
    Wir öffnen die Konsole und geben FGLRXCONFIG ein. Dann erscheint ein Begrüssungsscreen der wie folgt aussieht:

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    ATI - FireGL - WORKSTATION GRAPHICS ACCELERATOR
    ================================================== ============================

    This program will create the ATI "xorg.conf" file
    - based on your selections - for the following video cards...

    - ATI Radeon 8500 / 9100
    - ATI FireGL 8700 / 8800 / E1
    - ATI FireGL T2
    - ATI Radeon 9000
    - ATI Radeon 9200
    - ATI Radeon 9500
    - ATI Radeon 9600
    - ATI Radeon 9700
    - ATI Radeon 9800
    - ATI FireGL Z1 / X1 / X2
    - ATI Mobility M9
    - ATI Mobility FireGL 9000
    - ATI Mobility M9PLUS
    - ATI FireGL V3100 / V5100 / V7100

    The "xorg.conf" file usually resides in /etc/X11.

    Press [Enter] to continue, press 'q'&[Enter] or [Ctrl]+'c' to abort.

    Dort werde lediglich alle unterstützen Karten in Kurzfassung noch einmal aufgeführt. Hier können wir nur ENTER drücken um anzufangen oder mit den gennanten Tastenkombinationen beenden.

    SCHRITT 2:
    Jetzt werden wir gefragt was für eine Art von Maus wir haben:

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Mouse
    ================================================== ============================

    Specify the mouse port type. Choose one from the following list:

    1. Serial Port
    2. PS/2 or USB with PS/2 protocol
    3. Inport Bus

    Enter the number for your port type: [2]

    1 - steht für serielle Mäuse
    2 - für PS2- oder USB-Mäuse
    In den meisten Fällen ist hier 2 die richtige Wahl.

    SCHRITT 3:
    Jetzt müssen wir das genaue Mausmodell auswählen:

    Code:
    Specify the mouse model. Choose one from the following list:

    1. PS/2 Mouse (X11 generic ps/2 mouse driver)
    2. PS/2 Wheel Mouse (X11 generic ps/2 wheel mouse driver)
    3. Microsoft Intellimouse (PS2)
    4. Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer (PS2)
    5. Kensington ThinkingMouse (PS2)
    6. Logitech MouseManPlus (PS2)
    7. Alps Glidepoint PS/2 Touchpad
    8. Genius NetMouse
    9. Genius NetScroll

    Enter the number for your mouse model: [2]

    Hier ist die Wahl auch ohne Englischkenntnisse verständlich. Wer trotzdem nicht weiß welche Maus er hat oder was er wählen soll ist mit der Auswahl 2 meistens gut bedient.

    SCHRITT 4:

    Code:
    If your mouse has only two buttons, it is recommended that you enable
    Emulate3Buttons.

    Do you want to enable Emulate3Buttons (y/n)? [n]

    Hier fragt das Konfig-menü ob wir bei einer Zweitasten-Maus den dritten Button emulieren wollen. Bei Meiner Maus mit Mausrad wählen wir hier "n".

    SCHRITT 5:
    Nun werden wir nach dem Pfad zur Gerätedatei der Maus gefragt über die die Maus Signale empfängt:

    Code:
    Now give the full device name that the mouse is connected to, for example
    /dev/tty00 or /dev/mouse or /dev/psaux (includes IBM Laptops).

    Mouse device: [/dev/input/mice]

    Hier einfach ENTER drücken und die Standardvorgabe übernehmen.

    SCHRITT 6:
    Jetzt kommt das Keyboard dran:

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Keyboard
    ================================================== ============================

    Please select one of the following keyboard types that is the better
    description of your keyboard. If nothing really matches,
    choose 1 (Generic 101-key PC)

    1. Generic 101-key PC
    2. Generic 102-key (Intl) PC
    3. Generic 104-key PC
    4. Generic 105-key (Intl) PC
    5. Dell 101-key PC
    6. Everex STEPnote
    7. Keytronic FlexPro
    8. Microsoft Natural
    9. Northgate OmniKey 101
    10. Winbook Model XP5
    11. Japanese 106-key

    Enter a number to choose the keyboard type: [1]

    Ein "normales" deutsches Keyboard fällt unter die Auswahl 4.

    SCHRITT 7:
    Wahl des Keyboard-Layouts:

    Code:
    Please select the layout corresponding to your keyboard

    1. U.S. English
    2. U.S. English w/ISO9995-3
    3. Belgian
    4. Bulgarian
    5. Canadian
    6. Czechoslovakian
    7. German
    8. Swiss German
    9. Danish
    10. Spanish
    11. Finnish
    12. French
    13. Swiss French
    14. United Kingdom
    15. Hungarian
    16. Italian
    17. Japanese
    18. Norwegian

    Press [Enter] for the next page or
    enter the number for your keyboard layout country:

    Dürfte eigentlich selbsterklärend sein... DEUTSCH = 7

    SCHRITT 8:
    So - jetzt fängt so langsam die Konfiguration der Grafikkarte an:

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    FireGL Display Settings
    ================================================== ============================

    Quad Buffer Stereo ("Active Stereo"):

    This driver does support Quad Buffer Stereo ("Active Stereo")
    in combination with a CRT monitor (refresh rate about 100 to 120 Hz)
    and the appropiate stereo viewing subsystem hardware. For example, this can
    be a shutter glasses system (infrared or wired) or an active
    polarisation device paired with passive stereo polarization glasses.

    Do you want to enable "Quad Buffer Stereo" (y/n)? [n]

    Mit dieser Option kann man zwei Monitore so konfigurieren, dass man sie mit einer speziellen 3D-Brille nutzen kann. Wer keine 3D-Brille hat - hier "n" wählen.

    SCHRITT 9:

    Code:

    ================================================== ============================
    TV out Configuration
    ================================================== ============================

    Do you want to enable TV out (y/n)? [n]

    Wer den TV-Ausgang der Karte nutzen möchte antwortet hier mit "y" - wer ihn nicht braucht mit "n".

    SCHRITT 10:
    So - jetzt wird der Anzeigebetrieb eingestellt:

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================

    (Laut Manual ist dies nur mit zwei Monitoren und gleicher Auflösung möglich)
    5 - Dual Head: Zwei Bildschirme mit unanhängigem Inhalt.

    Weiter Einstellungen sind nur beim BIG DESKTOP interessant -->

    SCHRITT 11:
    Hier wird die Anordnung der beiden Screens im Big-Desktop Mode eingestellt:

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Big Desktop selected
    ================================================== ============================
    Big Desktop Layout. Choose the configuration from the following list:

    1. horizontal arrangement: monitor connector 1 => left display

    Enter the number for your configuration: [1]

    1 - zwei Monitore nebeneinander. Bildschirm an Anschluss 1 steht links
    2 - zwei Monitore nebeneinander. Bildschirm an Anschluss 1 steht rechts
    3 - zwei Monitore übereinander. Bildschirm an Anschluss 1 steht oben
    4 - zwei Monitore übereinander. Bildschirm an Anschluss 1 steht unten

    SCHRITT 12:

    Code:
    Do you want overlapping screens (y/n)? [n]

    Hier wählt Ihr "n".

    SCHRITT 13 a:
    Nun kommt die Auswahl welche Art von Bildschimm man hat:

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Monitor Settings
    ================================================== ============================

    Please select the connected primary (p) and secondary (s) display devices.
    NOTE: A connected digital display is always the primary display.

    1. (p) auto detect - (s) auto detect
    2. (p) CRT display device - (s) CRT display device
    3. (p) DVI display device - (s) CRT display device
    4. (p) DVI display device - (s) DVI display device (FireGL Z1/X1/X2 only!)
    5. (p) Laptop Panel device - (s) CRT display device (Laptops w. M9/M10 only!)
    6. (p) Laptop Panel device - (s) DVI display device (Laptops w. M9/M10 only!)
    7. (p) auto detect - (s) TV out
    8. (p) CRT display device - (s) TV out
    9. (p) DVI display device - (s) TV out
    10. (p) Laptop Panel device - (s) TV out
    11. (p) TV out - (s) auto detect

    Enter your choice (1-12): [1]

    Auswahl ist eigentlich selbsterklärend - wer nicht weiss was er nehmen soll wählt "1" - hierbei wird versucht die Screens automatisch zu erkennen.

    SCHRITT 13 b:
    Das Vorwort zur Einstellung der Frequenzen:

    Code:
    Enter your choice (1-12): [1]

    Now we want to set the specifications of the monitor(s). The two critical
    parameters are the vertical refresh rate, which is the rate at which the
    the whole screen is refreshed, and most importantly the horizontal sync rate,
    which is the rate at which scanlines are displayed.

    The valid range for horizontal sync and vertical sync should be documented
    in the manual of your monitor. If in doubt, check the monitor database
    /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/Monitors to see if your monitor is there.

    Press [Enter] to continue, press 'q'&[Enter] or [Ctrl]+'c' to abort.

    Um weiterzumachen einfach ENTER drücken.

    SCHRITT 14:
    Nun kommen die Einstellunge des ERSTEN Monitors:

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Monitor Settings - First Monitor
    ================================================== ============================

    You must indicate the horizontal sync range of your monitor. You can either
    select one of the predefined ranges below that correspond to industry-
    standard monitor types, or give a specific range.

    It is VERY IMPORTANT that you do not specify a monitor type with a horizontal
    sync range that is beyond the capabilities of your monitor. If in doubt,
    choose a conservative setting.

    hsync in kHz; monitor type with characteristic modes
    1. 31.5 ; up to 640x480 @ 60 Hz (VGA)
    2. 31.5 - 37.9; up to 800x600 @ 60 Hz (SVGA)
    3. 31.5 - 48.4; up to 1024x768 @ 60 Hz (XGA)
    4. 31.5 - 60.0; up to 1024x768 @ 75 Hz (XGA)
    5. 31.5 - 68.7; up to 1024x768 @ 85 Hz (XGA)
    6. 31.5 - 80.5; up to 1280x1024 @ 75 Hz (SXGA)
    7. 31.5 - 91.1; up to 1280x1024 @ 85 Hz (SXGA)
    8. Enter your own horizontal sync range

    Enter your choice (1-8): [1]

    Hier wird eingestellt welche horizontale Frequenz Euer Monitor von hause aus maximal unterstützt. Das müsst Ihr im handbuch nachlesen. In den meisten Fällen wird dies "4" oder "6" sein.

    SCHRITT 15:
    Nun kommt die vertikale Frequenz des ersten Monitors dran:

    Code:
    You must indicate the vertical sync range of your monitor. You can either
    select one of the predefined ranges below or give a specific range.

    1. 20 - 60 (e.g. slow scan flat panels with DVI cable)
    2. 50 - 70 (VGA)
    3. 60 - 75
    4. 60 - 85
    5. 60 - 100
    6. Specify your own vertical sync range

    Enter your choice: [1]

    Hier wird die Auswahl der meisten Bildschirme "2" oder "3" sein.
    ACHTUNG!!! Flachbildschirme arbeiten meistens nur mit 60Hz.
    Deswegen hier vorsichtshalber "1" wählen.

    SCHRITT 16:
    Nun kommen die Einstellungen der horizontalen Freuquenz für den ZWEITEN Bildschirm:

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Monitor Settings - Second Monitor
    ================================================== ============================

    8. Specify your own horizontal sync range

    Enter your choice (1-8): [1]

    --> Siehe SCHRITT 14

    SCHRITT 17:
    Und hier die Einstellungen der vertikalen Frequenz für den ZWEITEN Bildschirm:

    Code:
    Enter your choice (1-8): [1] 5

    You must indicate the vertical sync range of your monitor. You can either
    select one of the predefined ranges below or give a specific range.

    1. 20 - 60 (e.g. slow scan flat panels with DVI cable)
    2. 50 - 70 (VGA)
    3. 60 - 75
    4. 60 - 85
    5. 60 - 100
    6. Specify your own vertical sync range

    Enter your choice: [1]

    --> Siehe SCHRITT 15

    SCHRITT 18:
    Jetzt kommt eine Auswahl an der anscheinend einige scheitern:

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Display Modes
    ================================================== ============================

    The default resolution that the server will start-up with will be the first
    listed mode that can be supported by the monitor and card.
    Currently it is set to:

    "640x480" for 24-bit

    Modes that cannot be supported due to monitor or clock constraints will
    be automatically skipped by the server.

    1. Change the modes for 24-bit (24-bit color)
    2. The modes are OK, continue.

    Enter your choice:

    hier wählt Ihr "1". Wenn Ihr nichts ändert wird das System in der Auflösung 640x480 starten und keine anderen Auflösungen unterstützen.

    SCHRITT 19:
    Und nun zur Sache:

    Code:
    Select your modes from the following list:

    1 "640x480"
    2 "800x600"
    3 "1024x768"
    4 "1152x864"
    5 "1280x960"
    6 "1280x1024"
    7 "1400x1050"
    8 "1600x1200"
    9 "1792x1344"

    Please list the digits and characters for the modes that you want to use.
    For example, '632' selects "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600", with
    the default mode of "1280x1024".

    Which modes do you want?

    Zuerst wählt Ihr die Auflösung in der das System starten soll. In unserem Beispiel jetzt 1280x1024 wäre Auswahl "6". Nun gibt es aber Programme die auch in anderen Auflösunge laufen. Das heisst wir fügen alle anderen Auflösungen die unterstützt werden sollen an die "6" an. Wenn wir also auch die Auflösungen 1024x768, 800x600 und 640x480 benötigen würde unsere Eingabe so aussehen: "6321"

    Nach der Eingabe kommt die Bestätigung:

    Code:
    The default resolution that the server will start-up with will be the first
    listed mode that can be supported by the monitor and card.
    Currently it is set to:

    "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" for 24-bit

    SCHRITT 20:
    Nun werden wir wieder gefragt ob die Einstellungen der Auflösung so ok sind oder ob wir sie ändern wollen:

    Code:
    Modes that cannot be supported due to monitor or clock constraints will
    be automatically skipped by the server.

    1. Change the modes for 24-bit (24-bit color)
    2. The modes are OK, continue.

    Enter your choice:

    Da wir die ja eben eingestellt haben wählen wir jetzt "2".

    SCHRITT 21
    Nun könnte man auswählen dass der Dekstop grösser ist als die tatsächliche Auflösung:

    Code:
    You can have a virtual screen (desktop), which is screen area that is larger
    than the physical screen and which is panned by moving the mouse to the edge
    of the screen. The largest resolution in the modelist is used for any of the
    listed resolution with less dimensions. Each color depth can have a
    differently-sized virtual screen. Virtual screens resolutions are set
    for each color depth separately.

    Note: This graphics adapter will always select the maximum
    x and y resolution as the default virtual desktop resolution.
    This complies with general X11 specifications. see "man XF86Config".

    Do you want to use a virtual desktop where the dimensions are bigger
    than your maximum x and y screen resolution? (y/n) [n]

    Wer das braucht wählt "y" - wer nicht wählt "n".

    SCHRITT 22:
    Hier kann man den Zugriff auf OpenGL beschränken:

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Direct Rendering Interface Restrictions
    ================================================== ============================

    Please specify which restriction sheme you want to implement:

    1. no restrictions - any user has access to the OpenGL ICD
    2. limited to group 'users' - only group members can access the OpenGL ICD
    3. limited to group 'root' - only group members can access the OpenGL ICD
    4. limited to group 'video' - only group members can access the OpenGL ICD
    5. limited to group 'dri' - only group members can access the OpenGL ICD

    Enter the number for your default user restrictions: [1]

    Hier sollte "1" gewählt werden. Im Manual wird zwar gesagt, dass das ein Sicherheitsrisiko darstellt. mandrake Linux 9.2 Users müssen trotzdem "1" wählen weil die anderen Modi standardmässig nicht unterstütz werden. Bei SuSE 9.0 sollte man die Gruppe "video" wählen, da diese für den Zugriff auf die Grafikkarte zuständig ist.

    SCHRITT 23:

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Application Profiles
    ================================================== ============================

    Please select application specific profile:

    1. Default
    2. Individual Configuration of Capabilities
    3. Maya
    4. SOFTIMAGE|XSI
    5. SOFTIMAGE|3D
    6. Houdini 4.0
    7. Houdini 5.0
    8. Houdini 5.5

    Enter the number for your profile: [1]

    Hier wählt Ihr "1".

    SCHRITT 24:
    Für alle restlichen Schritte dieser Kategorie wählen wir "n":

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Advanced Graphics Features Settings
    ================================================== ============================

    Do you want to initialize xfree86-dga (y/n)? [n]

    Code:
    Do you want to export pseudo color visuals (y/n)? [n]

    Code:
    Do you want to synchronize buffer swaps
    with the vertical sync signal (y/n)? [n]

    SCHRITT 25:
    "Full Scene Anti Aliasing" ist für Linien- und Kantenglättung zuständig.

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Full Scene Anti Aliasing (FSAA)
    ================================================== ============================

    Please select multi sample visuals you want to share:

    1 = All (Visuals for 2,4 and 6 Samples per Pixel)
    2 = Visuals for 2 Samples per Pixel
    4 = Visuals for 4 Samples per Pixel
    6 = Visuals for 6 Samples per Pixel

    Please enter: [1]

    Wir wählen hier "1".

    Auch hier werden wieder alle restlichen Fragen mit "n" beantwortet.

    Code:
    Do you want to force multi sample visuals
    for every OpenGL application? (y/n)? [n]

    Code:
    Disable FSAA Gamma (y/n)? [n]

    Code:
    Customize FSAA Multi Sample Position (y/n)? [n]

    SCHRITT 26:
    Die Frage nach dem Kernel-Module (ob extern oder intern) beantowrten wir mit "n".

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Advanced OS Settings
    ================================================== ============================

    External AGPGART module:

    It is possible (but not recommended) to turn off the usage of
    built-in agp support of the provided fglrx kernel module and
    use the external AGP GART module (agpgart.o) of the Linux kernel.
    If you want to use the external module then ensure that it loads
    prior to the drivers full startup. In order to manually load the
    external agpgart module execute this on the commandline (as root):
    /sbin/insmod agpgart
    or alternatively configure your system to auto load the module.

    Do you want to use the external AGP GART module (y/n)? [n]

    "AGP Locked User Pages" dagegen mit "y":

    Code:
    AGP Locked User Pages

    The graphics driver is able to read and write textures and bitmaps trough AGP
    mapped and locked views of the main memory for the application's mem space.
    Performing those mapping task depends on several successfull interaction steps
    with the Linux kernel. A failure in this process might lead to some messages
    in the kernel log. If these kernel functions are failing silently or in case
    of other heavy incompatibility (e.g. a new kernel memory manger) then there
    is a high chance that the system will hang as soon as the graphics adpater
    wants to read from assumed but nor really mapped memory location.

    If you do see that the advanced fgl_glxgears application halts your session
    whilst the simple glxgears does run nicely then please disable this feature.

    If you do see lots of notifications about failed kernel calls for mem locking
    then please disable this feature and re-check the kernel message log.

    Do you want to enable "AGP Locked User Pages" (y/n)? [y]

    SCHRITT 27:
    Die Rubrik "TLS Method" betrifft eher die Workstation Grafikkarten:

    Code:
    TLS Method: *** this only applies to the FireGL workstation boards ***

    The graphics driver supports two different methods of thread local storage.
    The first method is fast but might immediately abort when used with
    WineX, VM emulators or some other advanced programming tools.
    The second method is up to 10% slower in a few rendering cases
    but does cope nicely with any sort of exotic software.

    For more details on this topic, please see the readme.

    If not totally sure about your needs, then please select "0 - default".

    0 - default (FireGL workstation boards: fast)
    1 - fast operation (only for standard gnu C/C++ OpenGL applications)
    2 - compatible operation (for WineX, VM emulators and some profilers)

    Which storage method do you want to use? [0]

    Wir wählen hier "0".

    SCHRITT 28:
    WIE??? Schon fertig ?!? Nicht noch weitere 36 1/2 Schritte?!?
    Schade -aber jetzt sind wir wirklich fast fertig.

    Die Frage ob die Konfiguration unter dem Standardnamen gespeichert werden soll benatworten wir mit "y":

    Code:
    ================================================== ============================
    Finish
    ================================================== ============================

    I am going to write the xorg.conf file now. Make sure you don't accidently
    overwrite a previously configured one.

    Do you want it written to the current directory as 'xorg.conf'? (y/n)

    SCHRITT 29:
    Die Schlussmeldung sieht so oder ähnlich aus:

    Code:
    Probing PCI bus for a supported graphics device...
    found: R350 (NH)
    PCI bus slot: PCI:1:0:0

    Writing the detected PCI bus slot into the xorg.conf file.

    File has been written. Take a look at it before running 'startx'.
    Note that the xorg.conf file must be in one of the directories
    searched by the server (e.g. /etc/X11) in order to be used.

    4. In den Runlevel 3 wechseln, also Init 3.

    Für die 5.te Option muss GCC am besten V4 installiert sein.

    5. rpm -Uhv namedespaketesdaserstelltwurde.rpm

    6. sax2 -r -m 0=fglrx -b /usr/share/doc/packages/fglrx/sax2-profile

    Neustarten Fertig.

    Wenn dieses Tutorial Fehler haben sollte, bitte melden.

    Fehlt hier nicht noch der Teil mit dem Paketerstellen?
    Also:

    Als was du auch noch machen musst, installier dir GCC und Kernel-Source.
    Also und wenn du dann die Treiber normal installiert hast, dann machste: sh ati-driver-installer-8.16.20-i386.run --buildpkg SuSE/SUSE93-IA32 Das SUSE93-IA32 musst du durch deine Konfiguration ändern, hier eine LIste:

    i386:
    -----
    SuSE/SLES9-IA32 SLES9/NLD
    SuSE/SUSE91-IA32 SUSE 9.1
    SuSE/SUSE100-IA32 (open)SUSE 10.0
    SuSE/SUSE92-IA32 SUSE 9.2
    SuSE/SUSE93-IA32 SUSE 9.3

    AMD64:
    ------
    SuSE/SLES9-AMD64 SLES9/NLD
    SuSE/SUSE91-AMD64 SUSE 9.1
    SuSE/SUSE100-AMD64 (open)SUSE 10.0
    SuSE/SUSE92-AMD64 SUSE 9.2
    SuSE/SUSE93-AMD64 SUSE 9.3

    Nein, denn das Paket, habe ich geschrieben soll man mit dem Installer erstellen, das geht, mit den neusten Treibern, also ganz unkompliziert, den installier ganz normal ohne optionen starten und dann heisst es glaube ich generate distribution specific packages oder so was in der Art.

    Hallo Hannes 2000

    Du hast ja bestimmt schon gesehen, ich habe einen Fedora-Thread zu dem Thema,
    fglrxconfig ist auch ausreichend erklaert und wie es mit Suse geht,
    das ist nicht das Problem, es geht ja auch mit Fedora3,
    aber jetzt sagst du, dass es mit gcc-4.0 kompiliert ist,
    wenn man das mit Fedora4 macht, hat man allerhoechstens eine 2D-Oberflaeche,
    die den ganzen Computer abstuerzen laesst bei einem Neustart des X-Servers,
    obwohl das Modul geladen ist.

    Ich habe bis jetzt nur eine Bastelloesung fuer Fedora4, dass ja auch gcc-4.0 hat.
    Schau dir bitte mal meinen Thread und die Fehlermeldungen aus dem 1.Posting an.

    Fuer Hilfe dankbar

    Ok, wahrscheinlich muss man es mit dem Compiler kompilieren, mit dem der Kernel kompiliert ist. Das sollte eben bei Suse 10.0 GCC 4.0 sein.

    Mein Treiber is zwar schon 2 Monate alt, aber ich hab ihn einfach imTextmodus installiert und dann in der xorg.conf in der device section statt radeon fglrx als Treiber eingetragen.....

    btw, Fedora 3

    Moin

    Habe mich auch mal drangemacht... die Anleitung ist Top

    Allerdings könnte noch ein Punkt mit aufgenommen werden, evt. eine Fehlerquelle... ich habe den Kernel upgedatet, danach erst die Source installiert von DVD. Blöder Fehler, wenn man nicht mal eben per Online Update (ich rede von Suse [10.0]) ausführt, der die Kernel-Sourcen aktualisiert

    Dann springt nämlich laufend der Fehler raus:
    Code:
    ******************************
    Build of kernel module failed!
    ******************************

    **************************************************************
    Building/installation of fglrx kernel module failed! Try again
    by calling "/usr/X11R6/bin/fglrx-kernel-build.sh" manually.
    **************************************************************

    Also, Hannes2000, bitte einmal darauf hinweisen, dass UNBEDINGT Kernel + Kernel-Sourcen die gleichen Versionen brauchen
    [ja, für erfahrene Nutzer wohl eine Selbstverständlichkeit *g*]
