Hallo Zusammen!

Seit meinem Update auf Suse-7.3 hab ich Probleme mit fetchmail.
Es läuft zwar, aber holt mir jedes mal pro Server nur eine Mail ab.
Die anderen makiert es mit der Ausgabe:

das Problem hatte ich auch mal,

der Grund dafür war ein Ausfall auf Seiten von web.de

das Problem tritt komischerweise nach deren Aussagen nur bei Abfragen auf, die durch Linux-Clients bzw Servern mit Fetchmail ausgeführt werden.

ich dachte damals auch an ein linux-server problem,

aber damit war alles in ordnung.

Ich denke mal du hast an deinen Einstellungen nichts geändert und vorher klappte es ohne Probleme.

Zum Test würde ich dir vorschlagen, ändere doch mal dein fetchmailrc ab, und frage einen pop3-server eines anderen providers ab.

wenn es da funzt ist damit der fehler auf seiten von web.de


soweit ich weiss, haben die auch eine hotline von 8.00 - 18.00

dort muss man dann nach den linux-spezies fragen, 2 leute betreuen dort speziell diese web.de kunden

Hallo Thom!

Nur allein bei web.de kann's nicht liegen, da das Problem ja auch bei freenet auftritt. Ich rufe die Mails von 3 Servern ab und hab auf allen Drei das Problem, daß jeweils nur die erste Mail geholt wird. Starte ich fetchmail dann nochmal holt es die nächste.

Ich hoffe du findest den Fehler.
Ansonsten weiß ich nicht was ich dir noch mitteilen kann. Meine fetchmailrc müßte korekt sein.

Hallo,

das scheint tatsächlich an der Gegenstelle zu liegen.

Villeicht ist aber auch ein Mail "kaputt" und kann deswegen nicht richtig abgeholt werden.

Am besten löscht Du mal alle Deine Mails am Freenet Server. Dann machst Du nochmal fetchmail -v und schaust ob Fehler erkannbar sind.

Wenn nicht, schicke Dir selbst eine und rufe dann wieder mit fetchmail -a ab.

Vor dem sendmail-kill blieb fetchmail hängen, lief dann aber weiter, holte alle Mails ab und lieferte sie ordnungsgemäß bei user micha ab.
Also liegt das Problem bei Sendmail. Aber wo?
Soll ich vielleicht mal meine sendmailrc schicken oder hat jemand schon vorab eine Idee?

mmmh.... das es an sendmail liegt fände ich seltsam.

Post doch mal Deine sendmail.cf

Vielleicht hilft das weiter.

Kanns Du Dir eigentliich selber ne Mail schicken ? Also per telnet localhost usw....

Probier mal telnet localhost 25 und poste was passiert. Normalerweise müsste sendmail Dich begrüßen.

Also ich hab jetzt festgestellt, daß sendmail als Dämon läuft und fetchmail auch ein sendmailprozeß startet. Dort entsteht wahrscheinlich dann der Konflikt. Also es funktioniert wenn ich sendmail als Dämon anstelle oder fetchmail direkt über procmail verteilen lasse, was dann allerdings amavis außer Kraft setzt.

Die Ausgabe von telnet localhost 25:

Mach mal rcsendmail start und dann telnet localhost 25.

Poste was passiert.

Ach ja, nicht nur die sendmail.rc.config posten ,sonder unter /etc die sendmail.cf

wie es scheint hattest Du einfach keinen MTA am laufen. Cemzufolge konnte fetchmail auch keine Mails zustellen....

Also, sendmail (in Deinem Fall) muss laufen.

Dann mach nochmal fetchmail -v und berichte was nun passiert.

Also wenn sendmail als Dämon läuft funktioniert fetchmail nicht, weil es sendmail nochmal startet - warum weiß ich auch nicht - was wahrscheinlich zu einem Konflikt zwischen den beiden sendmail prozessen führt. Kille ich den sendmail-Dämon, geht's.
Es funktioniert auch wenn ich in fetchmail.rc einstelle, daß die Mail's direkt an procmail geleitet werden. Allerdings fällt in beiden Fällen der Virenscann von amavis-sendmail flach.

Meine Frage ist jetzt: Warum startet fetchmail nochmal einen sendmail-prozess obwohl doch der Dämon im Hintergrund läuft?

normalerweise startet fetchmail sendmail NICHT !

Sendmail sollte nah Möglichkeit als Daemon starten.

Hier mal mein fetchmailrc. Die sendmailrc mußte ich als Anhang schicken weil sie zu groß war.

Denke aber nicht, daß es daran liegt. Ich nehme eher an, daß es was mit meiner Einstellung des Rechnernamens zu tun hat.
Habe einfach mit yast meinen Rechner fips.schneckenhofen.de genannt und hab keine Ahnung in wie weit das noch irgenwo anders als in der sendmailrc.config eingetragen werden muß.
Sendmail läuft normalerweise als Dämon. Wenn ich fetchmail -a oder -v ausführe startet es nochmals sendmail. Vielleicht kann es mit dem sendmail-Dämon nichts anfangen. Warum weiß ich aber nicht.
Hab bei dieser fetchmail.rc den sendmail Dämon abgestellt, damit sie funktioniert.
Kann aber auch mit mda "/usr/bin/procmail -d micha" die Mails direkt an procmail senden und umgehe so sendmail.
Gibt' noch andere Möglichkeiten?
