X-Server Performance sehr schlecht?

Hallo, ich habe eine Geforce 4 und soweit alles laufen incl. dem neuesten Treiber von nvidia. Mein Problem ist, das die Performace leider stark zu wünschen übrig läßt, wenn ich Fenster auf dem Desktop verschiebe ruckelt das sehr stark, und die Prozessorlast geht auf bis zu 40 % nur vom verschieben eines Fensters. Ich nutze übringens Mandrake 9 mit Gnome 2, hier mein XF86Config File ich hoffe jemand weiß rat.

hmm, schau mal nach ob der glx-driver geladen is.. das machste mit glxinfo

kenne mich leider mit nvidia derzeit net so aus, da ich ne radeon8500 mit sch1c3 driversupport hab.. :>

aber habs haeufig erlebt, dass x recht langsam war, wenn die glxerweiterung net bentuzt wurde..

Bei glxgears bekomme ich auch so 5200 fps. Das ist es leider nicht

Falls Du 1.0-4191 benutzt liegt das Problem bei einer Schwachstelle im Treiber bei der Behandlung grosser Pixmaps; bei GNOME/Nautilus wirkt sich das aus, wenn Nautilus das Zeichnen der Icons übernimmt. Du kannst die Option "nautlilus draw icons on the desktop option" mit Hilfe des gconf Editors abschalten um das Problem zu umgehen.

Ja das macht das ganze eindeutig schneller, aber wenn ich es ausmache sind die icons natürlich auch weg, kann ich die anders anzeigen lassen?

Ich kenne mich mit GNOME leider nicht besonders gut aus (um genau zu sein überhaupt nicht), und kann Dir diese Frage leider nicht beantworten. Im Zweifelsfall solltest Du vermutlich die Möglichkeit in Erwägung ziehen, zunächst einmal wieder 1.0-3123 zu benutzen, bis NVIDIA das Problem behoben hat.
