Hi!

Ich versuche grad mit kdm auf meinem server ne Verbindung per xdmcp herzustellen zu meinem client herzustellen. (ich hoffe, das man das so sagen kann :D )

Also, jedenfalls hab ich in der /etc/kde2/kdm/kdmrc unter [xdmcp] folgendes stehen, bzw. geaendert (das is dann markiert):

Enable=true << Das hab ich zu true geaendert

# The UDP port KDM should listen on for XDMCP requests. Don't change the 177.

Port=177 << Das hab ich auskommentiert

Der Rest war so. Nun wenn ich dann auf meinem Client mittels X :1 -query 10.100.0.1 versuche mich mit dem Server zu verbinden kommt zunaechst der graue Hintergrund mit dem X-foermigen Mauszeiger und nach einiger Zeit falle ich wieder auf tty1 von woaus ich den KRam gestartet hab zurueck. Die letze MEldung ist dann:

Fatal Server Error:
XDMCP fatal error: Manager unwilling Host unwilling

Was mache ich falsch?

Achja, auf dem Server laeuft Debian Woody Stable mit Kernel 2.4.17 und auf meinem Client Debian Woody Unstable mit Kernel 2.4.20 (beides mit XFS Patch)

Ich habe das mal mit 2 Woody Systemen gemacht. Wenn ich mich recht daran erinnere, musst Du noch folgendes tun:

In der "/etc/kde2/kdmrc" muss folgendes stehen:
[Xdmcp]
Enable=true
Willing=/etc/kde2/kdm/Xwilling

In der "/etc/kde2/Xaccess" die IP des Rechners des Terminals hinzufügen.

In der "/etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc" musst du das "-nolisten tcp" entfernen.

Wie gesagt, das ist alles schon über ein Jahr her das ich das gemacht habe. Ich bin damals nach dem XDMCP-Howto vorgeganen, dass im Paket "doc-linux-text" enthalten ist. Dort wird das Vorgehen für XDM beschrieben.
