Auflösung ändern - SuSE Linux 8.1

Hallo Leute,

habe ein kleines Problem. Ich hoffe ihr könnt mir weiterhelfen.

Ich habe gerade für meine Gforce 3 Ti 200 per YOU die Treiber
aktualisiert (3D Beschleunigung). Nach dem empfolenen Neustart des
Systems wurde auch das NVIDIA Logo angezeigt. Nun wollte ich per SAX2 (über YAST)
die Auflösung auf 1280x1024 abändern. Beim anschließenden testen der Konfiguration
wird aber nur eine Auflösung von 800x600 verwendet. Auch nach einem Neustart des
X-Servers bleibt die Auflösung bei 800x600, obwohl in der XF86Config die Auflösung auf
1280x1024 eingestellt ist. Habt ihr eine Ahnung wo hier das Problem liegen könnte?

Ich tippe auf die expliziten "Mode" Zeilen, sieh mal in /var/log/XFree86.0.log nach, ob die höheren Auflösungen von X zurückgewiesen werden und, falls ja, warum. 1280x1024 ist darüber hinaus nur für Farbtiefe 16 konfiguriert.

Also in der log Datei sehe ich folgende Zeilen als Kritisch an:

Aber leider habe ich immer noch keine Ahnung wie ich das Problem lösen könnte.

Überprüfe zunächst, ob die in der Monitor Sektion angegebenen Frequenzbereiche HorizSync und VertRefresh zu Deinem Monitor passen und lösche die Modes Sektion. Möglicherweise funktioniert es dann schon.
