3D (nvidia) geht net :\

hi leute habe mal SuSE 8.1 reingemacht und alles lief sehr jut..dann dachte ich mir och zoggen ist ja auch net schlecht also die rpms gezogen und installiert...jo subba keine fehler meldungen...nur wenn ich zB TuxRacer starte kommt fehlermeldung..blabla dieses spiel braucht §D die haben entweder keine 3D Ünterstüztzung oder es ist net richtig konfiguriert...da klicke ich auf OK und Tux startet trotzdem nur ES RUGGELT derbs. deshalb meine frage:

wie schaffe ich es das 3d richtig läuft ?

Du hast dir die Nvidia-Treiber schon installiert, oder?

also wenn ich die rpm's doch mit yast installiere dann sind doch die treiber installiert oder sehe ich da was falsch ?

klick auf die rpm -> installiere mit yast -> lege cd 1 ein -> klickt ok -> klickt fertig

(ja bin noch microschrott versaut deshalb soviel geklicke)

Hast Du nach Installation der Treiber das SuSE spezifische "switch2nvidia" script ausgeführt?

switch2nvidia ist sehr wichtig, annsonsten gibts noch ein Problem mit dem
Mesa-Treiber... wechsle mal auf die commandline, mach nen "init 4" und als
root dann "rpm -e mesa" jetzt installierst du die beiden treiberpakete nochmal
(check, ob das die richtigen für deinen laufenden Kernel sind!!) und dann
"init 5" guck, obs jetzt geht!!

Hallo morpheus...

Hatte das gleiche Prob. Bei SuSE einfach YOU ausführen, dann nochmal. Wenn Du manuelles Update gewählt hast, dann solltest Du darauf achten, dass NVIDIA_GLX und NVIDIA_kernel aktiviert sind...
Runterladen, fertig und schon kannst tuxracen... ;)

Habe ein änliches Problem , er will die geänderte XF86Config-4 nicht ändern lassen , also ich versuch wie beschrieben die 2 Sachen umzuschreiben , nur meint er dann Config Files könnten nicht verändert werden. Bin als root eingeloggt , eh ne irgendwie doch nicht , bin aber in full screen terminal und hab mich als root eingeloggt , wenn ich aber in file:/root gehen will , meint er ich hätte keine berechtigung !
