Hi Leute,

hab grad auf den SuSE ftp server nach nem neuem kernel gestöbert und da war auch diese Datei k_athlon-2.4.19-37.i586.rpm
was ist der unterschied zu einem normalem SuSE Kernel?

i586 ist doch für Pentium 1, Pentium 1 MMX und K6 ...

nöö, das ist i686, aus "make menuconfig":
"This is the processor type of your CPU. This information is used for optimizing purposes."

Abgesehen davon verwendet er das glaub ich auch um CPU-spezifische bugfixes/workarounds zu laden.

das die Kernels von Hubert Mantel noch nicht richtig getestet sind. Es koennen damit Problem auftreten.
